If you’ve been on Instagram, Pinterest, or inside a minimalist home in the past decade, you’ve probably seen the Restoration Hardware Cloud Couch. It’s the original “it-girl” sofa: oversized, pillowy, and famous for its sink-right-in aesthetic. It’s also known for another reason: its eventual sag. If you’ve done even a lick of research, you’ve seen what a little bit of wear can do to this ~$10K couch.
That’s why Mario Capasa launched its Tivoli Sectional. A cloud-inspired sofa, it’s basically the smarter, better-looking younger sibling to the Cloud Couch. A more practical, more fun oversized deep couch.
We got our hands on a Tivoli Sectional to see all of its improvements, and honestly: we were impressed. Here’s where it shines…

Price: Tivoli Wins by a Landslide
The Cloud Couch has a cult following… and a price tag to match. Depending on configuration, you could spend anywhere from $10k–$20k on the sofa. It’s definitely an investment piece which, for the record, we’re not opposed to – when the quality and longevity add up. More on that to come, though.
The Tivoli Sectional delivers the same iconic minimalist silhouette and plush feel for a fraction of that cost. You’re not paying for a name on the label – you’re investing in design that lasts. It ranges anywhere from $1,650 to $4,070 depending on the configuration. It’s that sweet spot that ensures quality without being unreasonable.
Durability: Tivoli’s Cushions Don’t Quit
The Cloud Couch is heavenly to collapse into… until it isn’t. Owners report that within months, the cushions flatten and lose their structure. What starts out as effortless chic becomes effortful fluffing and rearranging.
The Tivoli, on the other hand, is built with a supportive foam and feather blend – a plush couch to sink into, but one that’s firm enough to hold its shape. It’s engineered for the way you actually live: binge-watching marathons, kid pillow forts, even that one friend who always “crashes for the night.”
Stain Resistance: Real Life Approved
The Cloud Couch looks great in RH’s catalog – crisp, white, and styled to the nines. But bring it home, add a pet, a toddler, or just your daily coffee, and suddenly it’s a ticking time bomb.
The Tivoli Sectional is wrapped in stain-resistant upholstery that actually stands up to life. Spilled red wine? Wipe it clean. Diet coke incident? Consider it handled. It’s meant to be lived on.
Color Options: More Than Fifty Shades of Beige
One of the biggest complaints about RH’s Cloud is its lack of versatility. Your options are basically white, off-white, or “greige.”
The Tivoli offers a carefully curated palette that goes beyond beige. Whether your space calls for warm neutrals, moody tones, or a statement shade, Tivoli flexes to your style.
Washable Covers: The Ultimate Game-Changer
Here’s the kicker. The Cloud Couch covers aren’t machine washable. Spot-cleaning delicate linen is one thing in theory, another in practice (can you tell we’ve had practice?).
The Tivoli Sectional boasts fully removable and machine-washable covers, and a lot of peace of mind. Toss them in the wash, refresh, and your sofa essentially looks brand-new.

The Verdict: Go With Tivoli
The Cloud Couch started the conversation, but the Tivoli Sectional takes things up a notch. It’s the same iconic, low-profile furniture, lounge-all-day vibe, but with smarter construction, washable covers, and a price tag that won’t make you gasp. Trust – it’s worth it.
