Ghia is one of those brands that just gets it. Their founder is stylish, their vibe is aspirational, their mission is prescient, and – most importantly – their products are absolutely delicious. If you’re new to Ghia, allow me to back up and introduce you to your new favorite sip; and if you’re already a fan of the cult-favorite apéritif, have you tried their Le Spritz?
A Modern Take on Mediterranean Aperitivo Culture
Inspired by Mediterranean aperitivo culture, Ghia is one of the brands leading the actually-cool non-alcoholic movement. Melanie Masarin, the brand’s founder, spent her summers in the Mediterranean making fresh limoncello with her grandmother. In France where Masarin grew up, aperitivo is a moment to slow down and connect with others over food and drink. Ghia takes a modern spin on bringing people together in this way without the pressure to drink alcohol.

More Than a “Mocktail”
While their products don’t contain alcohol, Ghia is far from a “mocktail” brand. It has more of a ‘your favorite bartender’s favorite drink’ vibe. The flavors – crafted with real ingredients, botanical extracts, and no added sugar or artificial nasties – are complex, earthy, citrusy, salty, and gingery. In fact, Ghia is so delicious that I file it into an entirely different category than something for sober people (it’s an amazing option for them, but it’s also just a really delicious drink for those who choose to drink, too).
Why Le Spritz Is My Go-To
While Gallup recently reported that drinking in the U.S. is at an all time low, Ghia’s been hard at work perfecting its recipe for the past five years. In fact, they spent over a year and 55 iterations perfecting the Le Spritz recipe alone. (I told you it’s one of those brands – way ahead of the trend cycle!)

My favorite is Ghia’s ready-to-drink Le Spritz, a bubbly take on the Original Apéritif available in Sumac & Chili, Ghia-Soda, Ghia-Ginger, and Lime & Salt flavors.
Curious how they taste?
- Sumac & Chili: spicy, tangy, and perfectly sour
- Ghia Soda: earthy, citrusy, and bright.
- Ghia Ginger: very gingery-y, a little bit sweet
- Lime & Salt: citrusy and salty
I’m partial to the Lime & Salt flavor (I love what a finishing salt does to a dish, and it has that same effect in this picnic and party-read drink – perfectly balanced), but the best part is that you can now Build Your Own Bundle and create your perfect box. For me, that looks like two boxes of Lime & Salt, one box of Sumac-Chili, and one box of Ghia-Ginger. But hey, I’ll let you do you…
