As a work-from-home girlie, there are things that are super important to the flow and overall productivity of my day: a working (and full) coffee pot, my emotional support water bottle, and a clean workspace, just to name a few. So, when I was presented with the opportunity to test out the internet-viral blanket from Lola Blankets, I jumped on it. But does it truly live up to all the hype it has received? Keep reading for my full, honest review of Lola Blankets and to find out if it’s really worth adding to your blanket basket.

What’s the Story With Lola Blankets?
Lola Blankets sells luxury, plush blankets that have gone viral for their buttery-soft faux-fur fabric — and they’re known to be loved by celebs like Oprah Winfrey and Alix Earle. They come in a wide variety of colors and patterns, from classics like their best-selling “Creamy Cloud” to checker and cheetah prints. The mid-weight blankets have a unique texture that allows for a 4-way stretch, plus a double hem for extra durability. Besides blankets, the brand also sells pillows and pet beds and blankets, along with a few other accessories like sleep masks and candles for the coziest night in.
Lola Blankets was founded by two brothers as a tribute to their mother, Amy Higham, who found comfort in her faux-fur blanket while receiving treatments for breast cancer. To honor her legacy, the brothers give blankets to women experiencing breast cancer every month, as well as donating 10% of proceeds from the Rosewater blanket to breast cancer research and patients.
My Experience
This blanket, which I’m sure you’ve seen all over your FYP by now, might just be the softest throw I’ve ever owned — and that’s saying a lot as a self-proclaimed blanket connoisseur. It really is so soft. Even when I’m not using it to cover myself, I like to sit on it or keep it nearby just for the feeling of it. It’s thick, with faux-fur fabric on both sides — which makes it feel and look even more luxe. And it easily stretches with the movement of your body, adding to its comfort.
Design-wise, the blanket is beautiful. It looks like a high-end blanket as much as it feels like one. Walking into my living room, just the blanket’s presence adds a layer of coziness to my space — and I can’t quite say that for my other blankets (which have been sadly sitting in their basket since this one arrived).
While I do like that it has some weight to it, it can get too hot at times (it’s thick…and heavy). I also notice that the combination of its weight and the silky soft fabric causes the blanket to slide around on my furniture, especially on my leather couch. This combo also makes it hard to fold; however, I do have the large size, so it may be easier to fold up with smaller sizes. For reference, the blankets come in four different sizes: Baby (30 x 36 inches), Travel (40 x 48 inches), Medium (50 x 60 inches), Large (60 x 72 inches), and The Lola XL (80 x 90 inches), and range from $125 to $425.
And you’ll be happy to know that I have not experienced an off-putting factory smell or any shedding, which I know are major concerns with these types of blankets. I also put my blanket through the wash to see if it held up or changed at all post-laundering. After washing it in my medium-size washer, I hung it up to dry on my shower rack and threw it in the dryer after to fluff it back up on the “air dry” setting as recommended by the brand. I’m happy to report it came out just like new, and just as soft as before.
Are They Worth the $$$ Price Tag?
If you’re a homebody who wants a quality blanket that’s going to last and doesn't mind spending a pretty penny for it, I’d say it’s worth the splurge. Blanket-wise, you really can’t get much better than this. But if you don’t find yourself reaching for a blanket every time you sit, or you prefer a lighter throw, I’d consider looking at less expensive or different options. I think, though pricey — they can cost up to $425 depending on size — the quality of the blanket is definitely worth the price.
My Final Thoughts: Lola Blankets Really Are That Girl
Overall, I have really enjoyed this blanket and have a feeling that it’s going to stay in rotation for a long time… maybe, dare I say, even forever. It feels really durable and the kind of blanket that could last decades. Oh, and I’m not the only one who is obsessed: My dog will not leave this blanket alone. He’s constantly laying on it or under it… and I’m starting to think I should invest in the Lola Blankets dog bed, too.
