It’s a Saturday afternoon on a cold, still-feels-like-winter spring day. The kids are napping, the house is tidy (well, as tidy as it’s realistically going to get), and I’m curled up on the couch under a weighted blanket. Honestly, it’s pretty close to perfect.
What I didn’t realize until recently is that not all blankets are created equal… and I may have just discovered the absolute peak of couch comfort. Enter: Lola’s Weighted Blanket (starting at $135).
We like
- Extraordinarily soft
- Beautiful, one-of-a-kind dye
- High-quality faux fur fabric that doesn’t shed
- Weighted, but not too heavy that adjusting feels difficult
We don't like
- Heavy for the washing machine
- On the pricier side for a blanket
If you haven’t yet heard of Lola, I have to ask where you’ve been. The viral brand has torn through social media and made fans of Selena Gomez, Alix Earle, Jake Shane, Tate McRae, and so many more – and it’s also become a TQE editor favorite. But while I had heard many rave reviews of the original Lola blanket, I didn’t know nearly as much about their weighted blanket. In search of a new one (they’re great for things like improved sleep quality and reduced anxiety) I figured Lola was the place to start. Turns out, my instincts were right.

All Things Lola
Lola is a newer name in the blanket world, founded in 2021 by two brothers inspired by their mom, “Lola,” and her courageous battle with breast cancer. During treatment, she found consistent comfort in one thing: a soft, faux-fur blanket. After she passed, that same blanket became a source of comfort for the whole family, which led them to share that feeling with others.
Today, the brand honors her with a program called Blankets for the Brave, which serves women undergoing Stage IV breast cancer treatment by donating blankets each month to the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Even more, the brand has its signature Pink Check Blanket. When purchased, 10% of the proceeds go to the Morgan Pressel Foundation to support breast cancer research and prevention. In total, the brand donated a whopping $376,000 towards breast cancer charities in 2025 alone! It’s easy to see how something like this could bring a sense of calm during such a difficult time, but I’m getting ahead of myself…
A Weighted Wonder
A few months ago, my husband asked for a faux fur blanket to drape over our bed. He is a die-hard animal lover, but for some reason had a very specific vision of having a fur throw in the bedroom. I actually bought a few options for him to try out, but he ended up returning all of them because they either felt cheap or looked off on our bed.
Then we got the Lola weighted blanket, and the moment he walked into the bedroom, he ran his hand over it and said, “This is it!” He loved it even more after I told him that Lola uses a special hand-crafted dyeing process, so no two blankets are the same. It currently sits on our bed most of the time, but it does make the occasional move to our couch on lazy weekend days. It’s stood up shockingly well to 150 combined lbs of dog, too!
Weighted blankets we’ve had before have been extremely heavy and honestly, difficult to adjust once you were under them. Washing them was another headache. I have always found it tricky to get them back together after cleaning, almost like a duvet situation, but worse. That is not the case with Lola. It is not a “traditional” weighted blanket at only 10 lbs for a large size, but I have realized that might be exactly the point. It is just enough to feel comforting without being overwhelming.
The softness might be my favorite part. The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified faux fur is genuinely the softest blanket I have ever owned. It is also advertised as “zero-shed,” and so far, that has been true in our house, even with kids and dogs constantly on it. I’m cracking up reading the reviews from others on the site, mostly because they’re super relatable. My personal favorite is this one from Hope: “Babes would weep over this blanket. Songs should be sung of its greatness. Wars waged over its softness.” While this might sound dramatic to a pre-Lola me, post-Lola me knows this description is facts.
Is It Worth the Spend?
Prior to Lola, the most I had spent on a blanket was probably $100, which admittedly felt like a lot at the time. That being said, I would still spend the money on a Lola weighted blanket for a special occasion or a nice gift for someone. They are that good. My mom, a pretty minimalist shopper herself, is even considering getting a few for her home after seeing and feeling mine. The fact that it looks super luxe, feels amazing, and is machine washable checks all my boxes. Now, if you will excuse me, it’s time for a little nap….
