Whether you’re manifesting a positive pregnancy test, deep in your third trimester, or navigating the newborn blur, your body is in constant flux – and so is your baby’s. Most of us reach for a prenatal vitamin to fill in the nutritional gaps, but there’s one area many motherhood supplements overlook: the microbiome.
Studies show that up to 80% of your immune cells live in your gut. That means it’s just as important to build and maintain a healthy microbiome as it is to wash your hands and steer clear of subway sneezers this fall and winter in order to increase your likelihood of staying healthy.
As a new mom, I’m hyper-aware that my health directly affects my baby’s. When I saw Ritual – the brand behind one of my favorite prenatals – launch their new Natalbiotic, I was intrigued. It’s a first-of-its-kind biotic supplement designed with OB/GYNs to support mom’s digestive and vaginal health and baby’s immune health. Naturally, I had to see what the hype was about.

What Exactly Is Natalbiotic?
Fair question. Ritual actually coined (and trademarked) the term “natalbiotic” to describe this supplement. Each capsule contains 45 milligrams of probiotics and 15 milligrams of prebiotics that offer full-spectrum coverage to support mom’s vaginal and metabolic health as well as baby’s immune system.
How does a supplement support a baby’s immune system? Natalbiotic contains a probiotic known as HN001 that, according to Ritual, “supports breast milk immune factors when breastfeeding.”
This once-a-day capsule is designed to be taken before pregnancy, through all three trimesters and during postpartum if you’re breastfeeding. The diverse biotic strains encourage the growth of good bacteria in your gut and vagina, as well as your breastmilk.
If you’re already taking Ritual’s prenatal, Natalbiotic is a handy complement that supports gut health in addition to the essential pregnancy nutrients. Ritual sells the two supplements as a bundle.

Ritual Natalbiotic: My Honest Review
Since becoming pregnant, I’ve been ruthless about what I put in my body. If it’s not clean, traceable, and backed by research, I’m not interested. Luckily, Ritual ticks all those boxes. The Natalbiotic is third-party tested, heavy-metal-free, and – true to Ritual’s Made Traceable standard – every ingredient is clearly listed with its source.
It has a lemon essence to it, and while it’s not my personal favorite, it’s subtle enough that I don’t mind it. The capsule goes down easily, and I’ve had zero digestive discomfort. In fact, my postpartum digestion (which, if you know, you know) feels much more regular since I started taking it.
And beyond how I feel, there’s a huge comfort in knowing this supports my baby’s gut and immune health too – something you can’t always get from your average probiotic.
Parting Thoughts
If you’re trying, expecting, or breastfeeding, the Ritual Natalbiotic is a small but mighty addition to your routine. Pregnancy and postpartum can do a number on your body, but this one-step daily ritual makes me feel like I’m doing something tangible – and beneficial – for both of us.
It’s peace of mind in capsule form.
