When I was a kid, my family had ‘the little table,’ a real-wood, kid-sized table I sat, ate, and colored at throughout the entirety of my childhood. After no less than two decades in the family, the little table – covered in paint and scratches – was eventually donated to another family who could make their own memories around it.
I was recently talking to my sister about the little table, wondering how many pieces of furniture bought today will still be around in twenty years. Inspired by this idea, I swore to invest in real pieces I know I’ll use for years as I furnish the one-bedroom apartment I just moved into.
That commitment led me to Joon Loloi, a furniture brand whose spirit and style emits the same warmth and quality as the little table. I recently added their new Camdyn Chair to my living room, and I feel confident it will be a fixture there for a very long time.
From Loloi Rugs to Joon Loloi
The Loloi family has quite the reputation in interior design. Their first company, Loloi Rugs, was started by Amir Loloi over 20 years ago and sits at the intersection of age-old craftsmanship and modern design. Their rugs are “crafted the old-world way” – by hand, by artisans, in India. The company has collaborated for years with some of the most well-known movers in the interior design space – Magnolia Home, Rifle Paper Co., Amber Lewis, Jeremiah Brent, and Chris Loves Julia – on rugs, pillows, and throws.
In 2024, the Loloi family launched Joon Loloi (Joon is a Persian term of endearment), a full furniture line that draws on the same essence as Loloi Rugs and offers a unique design perspective informed by the family’s years of travel, expertise in the industry, and collaborations with designers. From sofas to coffee tables, dining tables, beds, dressers, nightstands, bedding, lighting, and art, Joon Loloi’s offerings run the gamut and tell a cohesive, well-lived-in story.
Building a Curated Home
My design sources, which have included everyone from my grandmother to Kelly Wearstler’s masterclass to digital creator Talia Mayden’s videos, have taught me many important lessons that have gone into the planning of my living room. Always choose the biggest rug size possible; buy things old and new; mix materials and textures; never buy a furniture ‘set,’ according to my grandmother; and choose some pieces that are grounding and others with a lighter and airier ‘visual weight,’ per Mayden.
With all of that in mind, I took my time sourcing the perfect armchair for my living room. I knew I wanted something with legs, a more traditional look, a low profile, and something visually interesting in its design. That’s how I landed on the Camdyn Chair in the Carrick Stripe Fawn Cotton Blend from Joon Loloi.
While my usual design instinct is to go modern, I loved that the Camdyn’s curved back and maple feet on metal casters give it an older, more traditional look. I figured that more classic feel would add more character and depth to the space. It also didn’t hurt that the chair itself is the perfect profile for the corner of my long-but-narrow living room.

Landing the Camdyn
Once my choice was made and the chair was ordered, all I had to do was wait. More difficult than it sounds – I was excited! – but Joon Loloi’s craftspeople needed time to make it. I was messaged a 6-8 week wait time, but was surprised that it arrived on the front end of that window. I’ve heard of crazy furniture wait times (up to 12 months at a popular local maker) so this felt like a huge win.
The cherry on top: white glove service. I scheduled my delivery, and two men popped the chair up the stairs to my place, unboxed it, arranged it in the perfect spot, and left the building within five minutes.
I spent the afternoon working in it, marveling at it, taking photos of it, etc. She’s beautiful, stately, and so plush. And while I initially chose the Camdyn for its looks, I was equally impressed by how comfortable it felt to actually sit in. The craftsmanship and quality are evident. I love that I can follow the entire upholstery process on Joon Loloi’s site: a U.S.-based craftsman first built the base, then it was filled and shaped at the cushioning station (it’s really plush), before finally being upholstered with my material of choice. The last step includes detailing by an artisan to ensure not even a single thread is out of place.
There's something particularly satisfying about ordering a piece of furniture online and having it look even better in person. After a few weeks of hosting, I’ve gotten no shortage of compliments. Everyone wants to know where she’s from.

Buying With Intention
Between Amazon, TikTok Shop and the barrage of ads we all receive each day, it’s hard not to feel like you constantly need the next best thing. As an editor of over 6 years, I’ve learned the cliche is true: fewer, better things outweigh the many, trendy things every time. There’s also a warm feeling knowing you’ve really invested in something, made by a real someone for your space.
While I’ve only tried one chair from the brand, my experience – plus the reviews and reputation of the Loloi family – has made me confident to recommend Joon Loloi to anyone looking for some design help for their space. The pieces are considered, full of personality, quality-made, and ready to make a statement should you decide to buy one.
To boot: tons of gorgeous inspiration, design tips, and styling options that come from years of experience and deep knowledge on turning houses into homes.
