The Set That Started It All
Spanx’s AirEssentials collection was my gateway drug. Specifically these wide-leg pants and this delicious crewneck. I wear them constantly – as a set, as individual pieces – and every time I hug someone in this outfit, they comment on how soft it is.
It’s buttery and cuddly, but it’s also structured enough that it still looks put-together. I’ve reached the age where it’s no longer acceptable to look slovenly in public, so when I’m looking to dress down, I get the feel of baggy sweats and a cozy sweatshirt with the appearance of a woman who’s got her sh*t together.
What’s So Special About Spanx?
You may know Spanx as a shapewear company, but these days it’s much more than that. Sarah Blakely started the brand to solve wardrobe woes – and while she started with undergarments, she’s well-aware that women have settled for discomfort in every area of their wardrobe.
Today, Spanx sells everything from jumpsuits to workwear and denim – all designed to flatter (most of the pants, for instance, don’t have buttons or a zipper so they’re easy to slip on and don’t have a bulky look). The brand’s fabrics offer 4-way stretch and are available in regular, petite and tall options, and sizes xs to 3x.
How Do You Wash Them?
Here’s another pro – you just toss ‘em in the wash! I’m talking about everything from sweatpants to work pants and dresses here. I find dry cleaning to be such a pain, so being able to wash my most worn clothes by myself is huge.
Can You Put Them In The Dryer?
It just keeps getting better! A lot of Spanx’s styles can be tumble dried on low – and some are best if hung dry. All in all, care is impossibly easy. You 👏 want 👏 these 👏 clothes 👏.
