Today, I was making a doctor’s appointment for December, and when the front desk woman realized that December was less than a month away, she said, “Omg. I just got emo for a second. The year is basically over. I have to start curating my holiday gift list NOW.”
Of course we all love the holidays in theory because of movies like The Family Stone and The Holiday, but as we get older, we remember that the holidays are also a time of great stress: What to get family and friends. How to spend that much time with family and friends. Stress-eating because of all of that time with family and friends! Don’t forget travel…
So this year, rather than raise our cortisol levels more, we decided to turn towards our Wellness Gurus, who are owning the category, to tell us what things they actually buy for other people and what they’d want to receive themselves. Open your hearts, your wallets, and get ready to rise above the rest.

These boots are unfortunately worth the hype, and I am not the first person on The Quality Edit to say this. I tried them at my physical therapist and immediately fell in love. A thirty-minute compressive massage helped my legs recover from my weekend long run and prepared my legs for my weekly speed workout by decreasing their soreness. The boots use alternating pressure that feels like a doctor’s blood pressure cuff in the best way. If my physical therapist notices a pair has gone missing, they know where to look.

“We’re too old to care about whether or not someone got you something that you mentioned once to them in passing or could have very well just bought yourself. The new age of gifting is all about striking the perfect balance between something you’d love to share with someone whom you love while also believing that you’re opening a door for them they didn’t even know existed. Imagine giving them something that they then want to buy for themselves over and over? A total win for life.” -Annie Goodman, Wellness Editor

“As a mom of two and business owner, when it comes to gifting, I like to keep it simple! I try to find one or two items that I know my friends and family are going to love and cherish, and go with those. I would say my gifting vibe this season is going to be simple, yet thoughtful!”

I’m such a fan of this showerhead that it was also my pick for April’s Add to Cart. It adds such a luxurious touch to bathing while removing chlorine, heavy metals, and other contaminants. If mom throws in some eucalyptus, the guest bath will be an oasis to wellness.

“I love gifting things that help to improve someone’s health and quality of life. I always lean toward ‘wellness-y’ gifts that help invite them into the lifestyle that I like to live. I’ve even gifted people my favorite clean toothpaste or deodorant because it was time for them to make the change, and gifting was a great way to help them get there.”

“To know me is to know I love to gift (and receive) extravagantly to those whom I love and cherish. Even when I was waitressing at 19, I’d save up all of my money to buy my mom Manolos or Prada mules. Gifting extravagantly doesn’t have to be expensive. It just has to be thoughtful.”
