Sweet Dreams Are Made of…Cultiver Linens

In partnership with Cultiver. Editor’s Note: We only select and work with partners that meet our quality standards, so you can rest assured we only endorse products we believe in.

We spend about one-third of our life sleeping, or trying to fall asleep. It is this fact that has justified what I think should be a universal truth: your bed is worth the investment. That we spend so much time in bed should be reason enough to splurge on sheets, pillows, and mattresses that prioritize our comfort, not to mention the fact that a good night's rest is paramount to our well-being and functioning, even (and actually, especially) after we wake up.

Clearly, I don’t need to be convinced that high-quality bedding is worth every penny. To me, there is nothing better than cuddling up in bed and falling into a dreamy night of sleep. If there’s ever an opportunity to make my bed even more comfortable than it already is, you can bet I’m in, which is why I jumped at the opportunity to try the sumptuous linen sheets from Cultiver

Cultivating Your Dream Room

Cultiver is an Australian brand making high-quality linens for your bedroom, bathroom, dining room, and beyond. More than just doling out timeless, comfort-first products, Cultiver is selling an ethos, a commitment to helping you add a touch of luxury to your everyday routines. This idea of embracing daily rituals is not new, but certainly one I can get behind.

Cultiver’s mission manifests as a well-curated collection of lifestyle products that are designed to last, by way of both high-quality, durable construction and minimalist styles that transcend the trend cycle. From the linen duvet cover sets to the denim bath towels, everything from the brand looks like it's meant to be in a California beach bungalow: lived-in and inviting.

Linen sheets are Cultiver’s bread and butter. The bedroom staples are made of 100% linen woven from European flax, which is often regarded as the highest quality flax, and thus linen, on the market. The brand offers a variety of ways to shop, including pre-made sets, singular sheets, and a diy, completely customizable bedding set, so you can stock up on exactly what you need to make your bed just the way you’d like it.

Cozy in California

I may not live in a beach bungalow yet, but everything Cultiver sent me felt right at home in my room. I received the Mira Linen Throw in Ana ($250), Linen Sheet Set with Pillowcases in White ($430), and the Linen Duvet Cover Set in Bluestone ($390).

My first impression of these sheets was simply wow. I’m not new to linen sheets, but Cultiver’s iteration felt softer and lighter than anything I’ve slept on before. This can be attributed to the fact that the sheets are pre-washed for a soft, lived-in feel and boast a GSM of 165. In textile terms, GSM (grams per square meter) refers to the weight of a fabric, with higher numbers being more durable and lower numbers being lighter and softer. At 165, Cultiver is the goldilocks of linen, a just-right combination of durability and softness.

Another crucial part of first impressions: aesthetics. Judging how sheets look before putting them on your bed feels a bit like judging clothing on a hanger; it’s not always a fair assessment. But even from just opening the box, I could tell that Cultiver’s linens would be lovely to look at. The sheet and duvet cover sets come packaged in matching linen bags. The Bluestone hue is rich and unique. Every detail feels thought out and special, in line with the brands desire to elevate everyday experiences.

Making My Bed, The Cultiver Way

I may love to sleep, but I hate making my bed. I don’t think I’ve ever rushed to make my bed faster than I did when I got my Cultiver sheets. I had to try them immediately.

While they are oh-so-soft and ready-to-go right from the box, I gave the sheets a wash before putting them on my bed. Take this step– it’ll give them a fresh, fluffy feel you won’t regret.

With a king-sized bed, putting on a fitted sheet can sometimes feel like a two-person job. Cultiver’s Linen Fitted Sheet ($175 on its own) is particularly roomy, making it super easy to put on your mattress. I appreciated this design choice a lot, but more than just making my life easier it also makes these sheets well-suited for tall mattresses. Once made, my bed looked like something straight out of an Instagram ad. The linen sheets quickly created that billowy, perfectly done-but-undone look we all know and love.

Now onto the most important part of a sheets review: what they feel like. The Cultiver linen sheets feel nothing short of amazing. I could wax poetic on their light-as-a-feather, cool-to-the-touch feel, superior softness, and airy breathability, but I’ll keep it short and sweet. If you sleep hot or live in a warm climate, and are ready to invest in your sleep setup, these are the sheets to add to your cart.

I tend to run warm at night and have a history of waking up simultaneously sweaty and cold. In the weeks I’ve slept on Cultiver’s linen sheets, I’ve woken up dry and warm. I’m convinced that I’ve slept better too, as I’m not tossing and turning trying to get my body to a comfortable temperature. Did anything about me change? Not that I know of. It has to be the sheets.

Sweet Dreams

Cultiver’s linen sheets are certainly pricey, and they may not be for everyone. If you want something heavy and plush, you’re in the wrong place. But if you’re looking for a blend of lightweight, cloud-like comfort and minimalist style, you can’t go wrong with trying Cultiver for yourself.

These sheets are an investment and hopefully one that pays off in many, many dreamy nights of sleep ahead.
