The day the fashion world has been anticipating for months finally arrived: Jonathan Anderson debuted his first Dior women’s wear show this week. Whether or not you were a fan of his work at Loewe, it’s inarguable that Anderson transformed the struggling Spanish fashion house into one of the hottest, most innovative contemporary brands on the market. According to Morgan Stanley estimates, Loewe’s profits under Anderson grew from €230 million in 2014 to €1.07 billion in 2024. With numbers like that, it’s no wonder LVMH appointed him as creative director for Dior’s women’s wear, men’s wear, and couture lines earlier this year – the first designer to helm all facets of the brand since Dior himself. Culture’s biggest names flocked to Paris to witness Anderson’s debut women’s wear collection, including actresses like Anya Taylor-Joy and Jennifer Lawrence as well as K-pop royalty like Jisoo and Jimin.

At Loewe, Anderson proved himself to be an adept fashion trendsetter, his playful, craft-focused aesthetic rippling out into other, larger collections. With his new position at Dior, Anderson is poised to wield direct cultural influence from a much broader platform. I’ll bet we see other brands echo the tailored waists and micro hemlines of Dior’s new bar jacket skirt suit sets in their spring collections. And given Anderson’s keen interest in crafts of all kinds, we can expect his influence to be felt far beyond the fashion world. I’d predict an uptick in brands referencing the Anderson-favored ceramicist Lucie Rie’s modern pottery across home decor and beauty/fragrance packaging in the coming year. And Anderson’s love of playing with scale will likely be felt across all categories of the design world.

I look forward to tracking how Anderson’s idiosyncratic eye gains even more cultural power with this new, highly influential platform. In the meantime, check out some of our favorite product launches from this week:

First Up: Nordstrom Collabs With Troye Sivan

Credit: Tsu Lange Yor

Nordstrom continued its partnership with Troy Sivan’s fragrance brand Tsu Lange Yor this week with an instantly-viral pop up at their NYC flagship store. I’ve written about my love of Tsu Lange Yor’s smart, emotive scents before, and they’ve continued to blow me away with every subsequent release. Their pop up is timed perfectly to promote TLY’s latest release, Sage’s Rose. The family-run Australian brand is making a major promotional push for the scent with a campaign featuring Troye’s sister, Sage. Given how many compliments I’ve gotten any time I wear their other perfumes, I can’t wait to sample Tsu Lange Yor’s take on a classic rose fragrance. The New York pop up will be open through October 19th.

Trending: Spooky Season

Now that it’s October, the countdown to Halloween has officially begun! To help you get in the spirit of the season, UrbanStems unveiled its Flowerlore Collection this week. To bring this vision to life, UrbanStems partnered with Nicole Rallis, a botanical tarot illustrator and author, to create a limited-edition tarot card series included with each arrangement. Each card reflects the symbolic meaning of flowers, infusing ritual and intention into every gifting experience.

D.S. & Durga has conjured up a limited edition studio scent just in time for Halloween: Well Dressed Werewolf! Well Dressed Werewolf is the latest iteration in D.S. & Durga’s yearly Halloween themed juices following cult favorite scents like Sexy Viking (which sold out in a mere two hours). I love this description from the brand: “The fragrance channels a roaring ’20s werewolf: tailored and ready to stalk the full moon after an evening of amber and class.” I recently visited a friend at D.S. & Durga’s Silverlake location and have been hooked on their Steamed Rainbow fragrance ever since, so can’t wait to check out this fun new drop.

Trending: Sumptuous Skincare

Credit: SONNI

This week saw the launch of SONNI, a brand new skincare brand focused on reinventing mineral SPF as skincare you'll wear every day. SONNI aims to make sun protection a daily skincare essential, not a seasonal step. The brand was created to solve the chalky white cast and heavy texture that come with most mineral SPF formulas. SONNI is debuting with a SunDay / SunDown system of invisible mineral formulas developed with unique zinc technology formulated to disappear on every skin tone.

Clean fragrance house Maison Louis Marie has expanded its beloved No.14 Icila fragrance into a full body care line including a body & hand wash, body oil, body lotion, hand crème, and premium diffuser. The well-balanced fragrance combines a base of warm, sultry woods and sweet floral blossoms. Maison Louis Marie make some of my favorite fragrances to gift, so I’m looking forward to these new formats for No. 14 Icila just in time for early holiday shopping.
