Rare Beauty broke some major beauty retail records this week, beginning its long-awaited partnership with beauty retailer Ulta Beauty on Sunday. Glossy reported that the Selena Gomez-founded brand broke Ulta’s record for the most sales made during a brand debut. Since then, Rare Beauty has also become the top-selling brand across Ulta’s blush, highlighter, contour, bronzer, lip, and brow categories. Based on how much marketing they pushed around the launch (including a drone show and an in-person appearance from Gomez) Ulta clearly had the research to indicate that this could be a huge partnership for them.
It’s interesting to think about which beauty brands are being given the spotlight – and the prime real estate – in beauty retailers. During the same week as Rare Beauty’s record-breaking launch, legacy brand Estée Lauder faced hefty fines for selling eyeliners containing forever chemicals. These kinds of missteps from a beauty behemoth like Estée Lauder make their more youthful, celebrity-fronted competition look even more appealing to retailers dealing with an increasingly educated consumer base.
Shoppers a few years ago might have prioritized brand names and affordability over clean brands like Rhode and vegan and cruelty free beauty brands like Rare Beauty. But beauty customers in 2026 are clearly willing to show up en masse to embrace newer brands that offer peace of mind about the products we wear closest to our skin.
And now onto this week’s best product launches:

Trending: Romantic Sets

Valentine’s season continues with two new fashion launches for the matchy-matchy romantic. Cult fave fashion brand GUIZIO launched part one of its Spring 2026 collection, ‘I Love You Truly’, alongside the limited-edition Heart Shrunken Hoodie for Valentine’s Day. The new polka dot micro mini set made me excited for warmer weather and shorter hemlines…
My current personal favorite activewear brand SET Active launched "City of Valentine," an expansive Valentine’s collection featuring all four of SET’s signature activewear fabrics. The line also includes pieces in stripe jersey, studio knit, sweatsuits, microfleece, and accessories.
Trending: Heavenly Hinoki

Cedar and Myrrh launched a new collection of luxury Car Air Fresheners that mix aromatherapy with intentional design. The Air Freshener’s uniquely shaped case draws inspiration from natural stone and is crafted with recycled materials and sustainable zinc alloy. It’s designed to clip easily to your car’s air vent and infuse the space with subtle, synthetic-ingredient-free scents including, of course, Hinoki! They also released the Hinoki Sacred Body Wash, a gentle, gel-based body wash. I love their Hinoki Bath Salts, and am so excited to see them expanding their offerings in the classic fragrance.
The earthy scent is having a moment: Ashley Tisdale’s Target-exclusive wellness brand Being Frenshe also had a hinoki release this week, launching a new Hinoki line across their hair, body, and fragrance products.
