There’s a particular joy in finding clothes that look good and feel good — like when the sun is out on your lazy Sunday, or when the barista gives you the perfect matcha-to-milk ratio (maybe this one's a little too me specific, but you get the gist). That’s how I feel about Richer Poorer.
Co-founded in 2010 by Iva Pawling, Richer Poorer is a California-born brand that’s quietly, but confidently, become a go-to for effortless essentials. Think perfectly broken-in T-shirts, soft-as-clouds bralettes, and cozy layers that look elevated enough to wear out of the house but feel like loungewear. With distribution in over 900 retailers worldwide, it's clear I’m not the only one who’s obsessed.
As someone whose wardrobe is constantly in flux (and whose laundry basket is constantly full), it’s rare that I find a brand that checks all the boxes: versatile, flattering, comfortable, and consciously made. Richer Poorer’s aesthetic is minimalist but never boring, with soft neutrals with just the right amount of slouch. It’s the kind of style that makes you want to slow down, whether that means lounging with a book—maybe your work laptop if we’re being real—or taking the scenic route to coffee.
Here are my Richer Poorer picks that blur the line between staying in and showing up.

My Loungewear MVPs:
Not going to lie, this is easily the clothing item I’ve worn most in the past month, and let me tell you why. Sure, I work from home, but the silhouette on these is so flattering and unexpectedly chic. I’ve styled them with a turtleneck or a bodysuit, a low-heeled boot, and some chunky statement jewelry — an unlocked combo, if you ask me. No one ever suspects these are my “lounge-at-home” pants.
The inner fleece lining is baby-soft and keeps me oh-so warm on those deceptively chilly LA nights (yes, LA can get chilly, I promise). I’ve washed them at least five times already and the lining still feels new. (And nothing’s worse than soft sweats that lose their magic after one wash, so this was a major win.) As for the fit, I recommend ordering one size up if you want a looser fit. True-to-size still looks great, but won’t give you that sleek, wide A-shape.

This is one of those “throw it on and go” layers that ends up becoming the hero of your wardrobe. I reach for it constantly — whether it’s over pajamas for a quick walk around the block or styled more intentionally with trousers and a fitted tank.
The fit is relaxed, the ribbed neckline and cuffs give it structure, and the patch pockets are actually useful. If you want a truly oversized look, go with your regular size. But for something more tailored, I’d recommend sizing down. The Mole shade (a deep chocolate brown) is so rich and wearable — it’s a layering staple I didn’t know I needed.

My Comfy, but Chic Go-To:
Okay, this one almost tied with the fleece pants for most-worn. I’ve worn it on coffee runs, video calls, even tossed it on after pilates — it’s that comfortable and cozy. And not itchy! As someone who’s super sensitive to wool, I was nervous, but the fine Alpaca and extra-fine Merino Wool (sourced from the Italian mill Pinori Filati, no less) sold me — and I’m glad it did.
It’s got that neutral-statement vibe that makes it the centerpiece of an outfit without trying too hard. Style it with relaxed trousers, a tote bag, some heeled boots, and you’ll look straight out of a Pinterest board. My only caveat: the wool does shed a little — so be mindful if you're wearing black or hopping in the car.

My Body Called…It Picked These Undies:
About a year ago, I swore off synthetics in my underwear drawer. I was done with irritation, done with nylon blends, and so ready for breathable, skin-friendly fabrics. This thong was part of my switch…and I haven’t looked back.
It’s breathable, incredibly soft, and honestly, I forget I’m even wearing it. The fact that it’s made from natural materials and still provides that second-skin feel? A win in every way. Especially as we head into warmer months, this is the kind of underwear that won’t betray you. Plus, Richer

These have become my go-to for days when I want coverage and comfort — especially during my cycle. The fabric is made from TENCEL™ Lyocell (sustainably sourced wood pulp turned into buttery-soft magic), and the high-cut legs give a flattering fit while still providing enough coverage to move freely.
There’s no digging, no riding up, and they hold up beautifully in the wash. I always air dry to preserve softness, but even after several washes, they still feel like new.

Why I’m All In on Richer Poorer
Richer Poorer is doing what more brands should be doing — creating quality basics with a conscious approach. Their silhouettes feel cool without chasing trends, and everything I’ve tried has been thoughtfully designed for real life (yes, even my WFH uniform).
Whether you’re editing your wardrobe or just trying to find better versions of the pieces you wear on repeat, Richer Poorer offers that perfect in-between of casual and curated. They’re perfect for the kind of outings where you don't want to change out of the comfies, but still want people at the grocery store to think, "woah, this girl looks like she has her life together."
Richer Poorer pieces will be the ones you reach for day after day, not because you have nothing else to wear, but because nothing else feels quite as good. And if you find yourself grabbing them straight out of the dryer to throw on again, remember there’s no shame in it… because I told you so.
