Football has always been a huge part of my life. Once upon a time, I was a mass media and communications minor with dreams of becoming the next Erin Andrews. I worked at ESPN 360 on the Lavar Arrington and Chad Dukes show and starred on a very local sports talk show – pre-kids when my world revolved around the game. I grew up outside of Washington, D.C. spending Sundays with my dad by a fire watching the Redskins play.  I bled burgundy and gold, so much so that my first born's first-ever outfit was a Redskins onesie. (RIP to that era – GO Commanders!) But fast forward a decade later, a move to Detroit, the birth of my second child and a new found life,  my fandom shifted gears slightly,  and today I share my heart with the Detroit Lions.

So, when Off Season launched with a limited drop featuring just a handful of NFL teams, I was beyond pumped to be one of the first “commoners” to snag this Lions puffer vest. And let me tell you—this piece is a game-changer.

First Impressions: The MVP Of My Game-Day Wardrobe

When I first saw Taylor Swift rocking this custom jacket last year, my immediate reaction was, “I NEED THAT.” My next thought? “If this woman can launch albums out of nowhere, then why shouldn’t she be partially responsible for the next big thing in football fashion?” 

I used to despise those generic pink “girl” jerseys the NFL pushed for years. I was shocked that the league didn't think women deserve better.  I wanted fitted jerseys in actual  team colors, not a one-size fits all bubblegum pink afterthought.  Thankfully, we’ve moved way past the days of shopping the XXL kids’ section just to find something that fits. Off Season is proof that game-day fashion has leveled up, and I’m beyond excited watching the range of celebs show up on this upcoming “Off Season.”  

I struggled with which style I should choose (vest, puffer or long coat) but ultimately opted with the Off Season Puffer Vest. Immediately, I could tell this wasn’t just some trendy, one-season wonder. The quality is unreal—it’s warm but lightweight, stylish but practical, and the kind of jacket that makes you feel put together, even when you’re just throwing it on for a Target run. Michigan winters are not for the weak, but this jacket keeps me cozy without making me feel like the Michelin Man.

What truly stands out is how functional this jacket is. The zippered pockets are deep enough to hold your phone, wallet, keys, kids’ snacks, legos, barbie’s dreamhouse aka the essentials.  This also means I don’t have to chance whether my “clear index card sized purse” passes security guidelines to enter the stadium on gameday. Plus, it’s water-resistant, so it holds up well in light rain or snow on my walk to Ford Field.

How I tested it: I wore the Off Season Puffer Vest to multiple Detroit Lions games, on winter errands, and during cold Michigan weather to see how it performed for warmth, comfort, and real-life wearability.
