My dog is always onto me. The second he sees supplements coming – even the ones I hide with peanut butter – he's closed for business. Suffer as he might from itchy skin and allergies, it's all but impossible to sneak anything healthy in with his treats.
Until I tried Native Pet. Not only do they make solutions for every pup's problems, from indigestion to off-putting breath, what really blew my mind is that my dog wanted to eat their products. Unlike the chews and pills I've tried giving him in the past, Native Pet found a way to please his discerning palate. For us parents of picky dogs, that's a game-changer.
It's all thanks to Native Pet's thorough testing process, where taste is always non-negotiable. After all, the deliciousness doesn't just boost our pets' quality of life, it boosts ours too: gone is the hassle of forcing our furry friends to take their supplements. But if this sounds like a case of flavor over function, rest assured that it's not a trade-off. Within a week of starting my pup's new protocol, I saw real, profound results.
What Native Pet Does Differently
Before we get to the before and after, let's take a peek behind the curtain. Native Pet's products are so effective because they hold their process to the highest standard. Unlike many of their competitors, who rely on fillers and additives to cut costs, Native never compromises on what goes into your dog's bowl. The Native Pet pact speaks for itself:
- Everything is developed in-house by their full time veterinarian.
- They never use additives and target no more than 5 inactive ingredients, against a shocking industry average of 20+.
- All products undergo third-party pet tasting tests (no wonder my little guy was such a fan), so only the best and tastiest products make it to market.
- They use the highest quality, most effective ingredients backed by science.
Where other brands may claim they're "vet-recommended," Native Pet's products are actually vet-developed. They craft their formulas with Dr. Dan Su, a veterinarian and Board-Certified Veterinary Nutritionist – the highest level of expertise there is in the field. Unlike legacy pet brands, which repackage the same formulas again and again under different names, Native Pet uses scientific expertise to find new ways to keep our pets healthy.
Without the binders and oils that permeate other products, all that's left is the good stuff. But having the right ingredients isn’t enough; they also have to be delivered in the right amounts. Collagen, for example, supports skin health, but only at a certain amount. To hit that amount, Native made its Daily supplement a powder instead of a chew, which leaves room for more active ingredients. Getting the best results for your pet always comes first, which I saw for myself once my pup got started on his regimen.

Paws-On Testing
Native Pet has a wide product line (they've even got cats covered too), but I tried out the three supplements that seemed most helpful for my dog. The Itchy Skin pellets were first up, since my guy has long kept me awake at night with extended scratching sessions. The formula tackles dry skin from several angles: zinc and Vitamin E promote natural moisture balance, while probiotics cushion the inflammatory response and irritation from itching. The serving was easy to figure out, thanks to a weight-based chart on the back of the package, and a scoop came included so there was no guesswork around measuring. Despite all of Native's promises around flavor, I was still skeptical, since my dog doesn't tend to love crunchy treats. These pellets felt firm, a far cry from his usual chewy favorites. Would he find a way to resist even these supplements?
Quite the opposite. My dog devoured the scoops I added to his dinner, then turned around and started sniffing the bag for more. I shouldn't have been surprised – the flavor was pork and pumpkin, a slam dunk for any pooch – but it's rare to get a rave review in this household. He was just as hooked on the Clean Breath pellets, which use a blend of pre- and postbiotics to promote good gut bacteria. The microbiome effects don't just support healthier teeth, they target volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs) that produce bad breath in animals. Within a few servings, his kisses were odor-free, which I can lovingly report was not the case before.
If pellets don't work well for your pet, both products are also available as powders, along with the all-in-1 Daily supplement I mentioned above. I had to try that too, given its claim that one simple scoop could give 11 different benefits. The Daily promotes gut, digestion, bladder and immune support, as well as supports cognition, mobility and heart health. As someone committed to giving my good boy the longest, healthiest life possible, I leapt at the chance to boost all of those areas with one easy step.
While I can't speak explicitly to the more internal benefits like heart health, I saw big, visible improvements in his quality of life. His digestion got better in a matter of days, getting rid of his usual on-and-off tummy troubles. His joints seemed healthier and more mobile, without any of the stiffness I'd noticed previously after long runs at our local park. In conjunction with the Itchy Skin pellets too, his scratching went away. I couldn't believe how long I'd accepted these ailments as normal before finding Native Pet.
Better Late Than Never
It's never a bad time to invest in your pet's health, or in their happiness. One of my favorite things about Native's products is that making the upgrade is so easy. I'd had bad experiences before switching kibbles: getting used to new foods would often spike my pup's indigestion. Yet we never had a single hiccup adding Native's supplements to his diet. His body took it all in stride, clearly grateful for the relief.
While the Daily powder is a great place to start, there are individual supplements for anything that's ailing your pet. The Allergy Chews help with seasonal allergies, the Calm Chews support restful sleep; they've even got WonderGland for anal gland health (iykyk) and Pumpkin powder for upset stomachs. By bundling together the exact combination your dog needs, you don't just save on shipping, you also get an additional 15% off your order. Native knows that every furry friend is unique, and offers just as many unique ways to help them thrive.
After testing their supplements on the pickiest pup I know, I can say they truly deliver on what they promise: real ingredients, real flavor, but best of all, real results. Our canine companions deserve the very best we have to give them – and thanks to Native Pet, it's easier than ever to keep their tails wagging for years to come.
