I first discovered LYMA through its cult-favorite, award winning, $2,695 at-home laser, a sleek, futuristic device that’s become synonymous with next-generation skincare. But behind the glow is founder Lucy Goff’s story – one that began as a deeply personal health journey and evolved into a global movement rooted in results.

In this conversation, Goff opens up about how a health crisis led her to create LYMA, what makes her laser unlike anything else on the market, and how she’s championing a future where wellness isn’t just a trend but a science.

Q: Tell me a little about your background. How did your career journey lead you to founding LYMA?

A: Founding LYMA was never part of my career plan, but rather the result of a very personal health crisis. After the birth of my daughter, I developed septicemia and was left fighting for my life. Although I was eventually deemed medically well, I felt like a shadow of myself. I tried countless remedies and combinations of supplements that promised results but delivered nothing, and it left me wondering if I would ever feel truly healthy again.

It was during this time that I met Professor Paul Clayton, one of the world’s leading experts in pharmaconutrition. He introduced me to evidence-based nutraceuticals, which are patented, clinically dosed and scientifically proven to work. Within weeks of starting these formulations, I finally started to feel like myself again. That transformation was profound and it gave me a clear sense of purpose. I wanted to bring the same level of scientific integrity and efficacy to others who were searching for real answers.

With Paul’s expertise and my unwavering belief in what we had built, I self-funded LYMA and launched it from my kitchen table. What began as a personal health crisis became the foundation of a company dedicated to helping people look and feel their absolute best. That mission soon evolved into LYMA Laser, and subsequent Laser PRO, pioneering technology that brings clinic-grade performance into people’s homes and redefines what’s possible in wellness and beauty.

Q: Building a science-backed wellness brand in an industry that often thrives on hype is no small feat. What’s been the most surprising part of that journey?

A: The most surprising part for me has been seeing how many products are able to make sweeping claims without any scientific validation, and how normalized that has become in the wellness industry. When I was ill, I experienced firsthand the frustration of trying endless remedies that promised results but never delivered, and it struck me that this was not just my story but the reality for so many others.

What has been encouraging to witness since launching LYMA is how the narrative is starting to shift. People now have such easy access to information, and they are questioning what is true and what is marketing more than ever before. Once they see the difference that real science makes, they are no longer satisfied with hype. That shift gives me hope that the future of wellness will be driven by proof, not promises.

Meet the LYMA Laser - the revolutionary, at-home clinical laser that truly transforms your skin.

Q: Can you walk us through how the Laser actually works? What sets the LYMA Laser apart from everything else on the market?

A: The LYMA Laser works by delivering near-infrared light deep into the skin, where it is absorbed by cellular mitochondria and converted into energy. This process, called photobiomodulation, helps support the cells’ natural repair and regenerative functions, enhancing collagen and elastin production and promoting overall skin health.

What makes the LYMA Laser unique is that it is the first FDA-cleared, clinical-grade laser designed for safe, at-home use. Unlike traditional clinic lasers that rely on heat or controlled damage to stimulate skin repair, the LYMA Laser uses a completely cold, near-infrared beam to target fibroblasts (the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin). This allows for safe, effective stimulation of the skin’s natural regenerative processes at home.

Earlier this year, we introduced the Laser PRO, which delivers three times the power of the original LYMA Laser. It builds on the same photobiomodulation technology at a higher strength, offering the next generation of professional-grade skin rejuvenation for home use.

These results speak for themselves.

Q: At $2,695, the LYMA Laser is an investment. What results do customers typically see, and how quickly?

A: With both the LYMA Laser and the new Laser PRO, people usually notice results in two stages. In the short term, many see their skin take on a healthier, more radiant glow. Redness calms, inflammation settles, and the tone looks more even. These changes can often be visible within days and they’re usually the first things people notice.

Though the real transformation comes with consistent use over time. Because the Laser works at a cellular level, it helps boost collagen and elastin and restores the skin’s natural ability to regenerate. Over weeks and months, this leads to plumper, smoother skin, softened fine lines and wrinkles, and a visible fading of pigmentation and scars. The Laser PRO, with three times the power of the original, accelerates these results while keeping everything safe and easy for at-home use.

That’s why we call it an investment. The longer and more consistently you use it, the more noticeable and lasting the results become. And unlike other treatments or courses that require ongoing spending, the LYMA Laser is a one-time investment, clinic-grade technology that’s yours to use for years at home and on the go, with results that only get better the longer you commit to it.

Q: Looking ahead, how do you see the future of skin health and beauty technology evolving, and where does LYMA fit in that picture?

A: The future of skin health is about longevity. For too long, the beauty industry has focused on surface-level quick fixes and complicated routines that don’t really change skin at its foundation. Today, as we live longer lives, the focus is shifting. It’s not about living longer, it’s about living better. The next era belongs to technologies that work at a cellular level, helping our skin function at its healthiest so we can look and feel our best throughout our lives.

That’s the vision we’ve always had at LYMA. We took technology once confined to medical settings and engineered it so people can safely and easily use it at home. The Laser set a new standard, and with the Laser PRO we’ve shown that at-home devices can deliver the same transformational results as professional treatments, keeping skin resilient, healthy, and radiant as life goes on.

Science will continue to advance, but LYMA’s role is clear: to make what the industry often says is impossible, possible. That’s the path we’ve always followed, and it’s how we’ll continue to redefine what beauty technology can achieve, helping people live their best lives, every day.

Q: If you could change one misconception about the wellness and beauty industry, what would it be?

A: I’d want people to stop thinking that quick fixes and surface-level treatments are enough. For too long, the industry has sold the idea that beauty is just what you put on your skin, whether that’s a cream, a serum, or a procedure, without addressing the underlying health of your body and cells. True wellness and lasting results come from supporting your skin and body at a deeper, more fundamental level.

That’s exactly why LYMA is a 360° ecosystem. We understand that internal health is just as important as external care, so our approach combines advanced science backed skincare tools like the Laser with the Supplement and nutrition that nourish your cells from the inside out. The result is skin and wellbeing that truly reflects your body functioning at its best.

Q: When you do get free time, how do you like to spend it?

A: To be honest, my free time is pretty rare these days with two young kids, so most of it is spent with them, cooking meals I know they’ll love, catching up on their little milestones, and just being fully present in those moments. But when I do manage to steal a little time back for myself, I really make the most of it. I might dive into a good book, use my LYMA Laser, or treat myself to a full body treatment. Just little ways to recharge and feel like ‘me’ again. Those moments are precious and make all the difference.

Q: What’s something fans would be surprised to learn about you?

A:  Trashy TV like Married at First Sight. I just love it. Anything that takes your mind off reality at the end of the day. I just finished watching White Lotus. That was brilliant.

Q: What’s a bit of wisdom you’ve carried with you throughout your journey?

A: The best piece of wisdom that was ever given to me, and a mantra I continue to live by, is to focus on small, consistent habits, whether it’s taking care of your body, carving out moments of self-care, or just being fully present with the people you love. Those tiny actions really do compound over time and make the biggest difference.
