If you’re a new parent like me, you might agree that feeding a baby can feel like a full-time job. Whether you’re breastfeeding, pumping, using formula, or transitioning to solids, each method comes with its challenges. As a mom doing a combo of breastfeeding and pumping for my now 5.5-month-old daughter, I feel a new kind of pressure being the sole responsible party to keep her alive, growing, and happy, which is why I’ve been desperate to find a formula that my daughter will drink without fuss. And with Little Spoon’s new launch, I’ve found exactly what I’m looking for.
According to the CDC’s 2025 Breastfeeding Report Card, 25% of 6-month-old babies received breast milk exclusively, which means the vast majority of parents are using some amount of formula. From legacy brands to newbies on the market to European products, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by formula options, not to mention pleasing the palate of a picky little one. My daughter's favorite trick is to leave just the last two ounces of the bottle made with two ounces of formula and four of milk (diabolical!).
When I learned that beloved baby food brand Little Spoon was releasing its own infant formula, I had to give it a try.

From My Little One’s POV
I was shocked when I offered my daughter a bottle of Little Spoon’s formula. Notoriously picky, she didn’t grimace or make a peep of frustration. I’m choosing to start here because the reality of motherhood is that if your little one won’t drink a formula, it doesn’t matter how great the ingredients inside are. It’s frustrating, but it’s true.
The only other formula I could get Nora to consume (and only when heavily diluted by breast milk), listed corn syrup solids as the first ingredient, followed by partially hydrolyzed nonfat milk. Luckily, I also feel great about the ingredients in Little Spoon’s formula.
Quality Ingredients, Backed by Testing

Little Spoon starts with organic lactose and organic grass-fed whole milk. I love that I can identify the ingredients and that the nutrition facts closely mimic breast milk, according to this study. Per 100 calories, the formula offers 2 grams of protein, 5.3 grams of fat, and 11 grams of carbs. Notably, it’s fortified with 1.2 milligrams of iron, which is especially important for infants, as the amount in breastmilk decreases postpartum.
The powder is super fine; it mixes easily into water with a few shakes. I’ve never noticed clumping, nor does it cling to the sides of the bottle like others I’ve tried.
Testing Transparency

The formula is certified organic by both USDA and EU standards, but the most reassuring part to me, especially in a world rife with food recalls, is that Little Spoon publishes third-party testing data for heavy metals for each batch of formula on its website. Little Spoon went beyond “compliant” with self-set safety limits, expanded testing, and publicly shared data, and they’re now leading the category with a new level of transparency and rigor.
To get granular: they’re the first US formula brand to publish their exact heavy metal testing limits and results for their formula right on our site; every batch undergoes 2,000+ documented individual quality and safety checks – from first ingredient to final seal – backed by a manufacturing partner with 25+ years of infant formula expertise; and every batch is voluntarily tested for Sulfite-Reducing Clostridia (SRC), an indicator of the hygiene processes in place to control spore-forming bacteria, at limits 10× stricter than international guidance.
Parents know that formula feeding can come with some concerns and anxiety; Little Spoon’s rigor helped cure mine.
In Conclusion

It’s hard to explain my peace of mind now that I know I’ll always have food Nora will eat. When I travel, lose a night of good sleep (hello, new parenthood), or catch a cold, and my supply drops, I don’t stress about running out of milk. Plus, I can pad Nora’s bottles with Little Spoon formula to help build a little freezer stash for the future. If you’re looking for a fully transparent, high-quality formula your baby will actually love, Little Spoon formula is available via subscription now.
