For years I had heard of the modern and chic skincare studio, Facile Skin. Friends, influencers, and celebrities – including Mandy Moore, Lucy Hale, and Dove Cameron – flock to this serene oasis in the middle of West Hollywood. Facile boasts a range of cutting-edge treatments that cater to various skin types and concerns from advanced laser therapies that rejuvenate the skin to minimally invasive cosmetic procedures that enhance natural beauty. In addition to the comprehensive suite of services, whether combating signs of aging, addressing acne scars, or simply refreshing tired skin, their treatments are designed to deliver exceptional results with minimal downtime. After a long and exhausting skincare journey, I wondered if Facile was worth all the hype – so I stopped by to find out.

A Little Background
For some context on my skincare journey, I am someone who has tried pretty much every high-end skincare product, from La Mer to Vintner’s Daughter to Goop, over the past 15 years to help with my skin’s texture, pores, and scarring. I’ve met with top Beverly Hills dermatologists, experimented with lasers, and done prescription Retinol. I can confidently say that nothing has my skin in better shape than the holistic approach I devised with the personalized care of one of facile's providers, Mona Seresht
Mona and Facile’s practitioners take time to understand each patient’s unique skin challenges and aspirations to create tailored skincare plans that combine in-office treatments with at-home routines, ensuring that patients not only achieve optimal results but also maintain the health and radiance of their skin in the long run.
My Skincare Routine
My journey with Facile started with their tightly edited and efficient skincare. Facile’s skincare embodies the essence of its name: simplicity, ease, and effectiveness. Their brand philosophy is that “good skin should be easy” at an affordable price. Made with nontoxic ingredients, Facile’s products are designed to be “clinical, kind, conscious, and sustainable.”
I started with their Bare Necessity Hyaluronic Cleanser, which is a soap-free, low-foaming gel cleanser that deep cleans pores without drying. Hyaluronic Acid delivers moisture to cells, while gentle surfactants melt away impurities. This simple yet effective formula is the key to revealing balanced, supple skin that’s prepped and ready for the next step in your routine. I was advised to pair the cleanser with their Targeted Skin Serums (I tried all four – a great value at $139!) which include Brighten Brightening Serum, Clear Acne Serum, Destress Calming Serum, and Reverse Anti-Aging Serum. Clear helps to clear and prevent breakouts and exfoliates skin, Destress promises to protect and repair the skin barrier and reduce inflammation, Reverse firms and lifts skin and slows cell aging and Brighten lightens skin discoloration and evens skin tone. I rotate which serum I use each day and night, depending on how my skin feels.
Facile also launched The Buzz, their first-ever exfoliating mask, in September which I use about once every week and makes me feel like I’ve had a facial in-between coming into Facile. This do-it-all mask includes glycolic acid, lactic acid, citric acid, salicylic acid, and mandelic acid.
With one cleanser, one serum, an occasional mask, and of course my tinted moisturizer or Elta MD sunscreen, that was it. Simplifying my routine felt empowering, but most importantly, I couldn’t believe how effective these products were compared to my normal 7-step night skincare routine. Within a few weeks, my skin looked refreshed, rebalanced, and retexturized.
To supercharge my skincare routine, I also cut out most grains and sugar, and turned to a whole-food diet, focusing on foods like meat and protein, veggies, fruit, and honey. I made sure to get enough water, did yoga 2-3x a week, and walked regularly. I note this because I think it’s also important to consider lifestyle changes when trying to improve your body’s largest organ.
The IRL Experience
Facile Skin earned my trust with their skincare, so I decided to dive deeper into their offerings. I met with the practitioner Mona Seresht in their West Hollywood office for a consultation, and we discussed some of my skincare challenges including texture, pores, and scarring. Mona suggested the CoolPeel, which is also known as fractional laser therapy. It works by delivering precise, controlled laser beams into the skin's deeper layers. Unlike traditional laser treatments, CoolPeel divides the laser energy into thousands of microscopic beams, creating tiny, evenly-spaced treatment zones. This fractional approach promotes rapid healing and collagen production, leading to improved skin texture and tone. I booked an appointment a couple of weeks later and decided to try the CoolPeel to complement my skincare regimen.
We started with a topical numbing cream left on my face for approximately 30 minutes, then the CoolPeel session, beginning on my forehead down both sides of the face and into the cheeks and nose. I have to admit that it wasn’t painless, but I’d give it a 5 or so out of 10 on the pain scale. It was tolerable and the actual procedure only took 5 minutes to complete (thank goodness!).
We did a few more passes and precise targeting on the areas where I had deeper scars. Immediately after my skin felt warm, but was unexpectedly not red at all. That night my skin was tight and hot, but the next morning felt mostly back to normal. The next three days my skin started to feel like sandpaper, with tiny little bumps where each laser beam when into my skin. I could wear makeup the day after, and work out as usual. The redness was totally bearable and easily concealed. After the fifth day, I started to see the old skin gently sloughing off, and a new and refreshed layer of skin shining through. After one full week, my skin was glowing and even, pores were refined, and scaring and any sun damage or pigment was dramatically reduced. I loved it so much that I’m already thinking about doing another session to further refine my skin.
In conclusion, my experience with Facile skincare has been a simple yet effective combination that truly delivers. By embracing the principles of facile – simplicity, ease, and effectiveness – Facile has redefined dermatological care. For those seeking transformative yet uncomplicated skincare experiences, Facile Skin is the ultimate destination, where radiant skin is attainable and feeling your best and most restored self is easy.
