When Dorian Morris isn’t in the lab transforming mushroom-based ingredients into luxurious yet affordable skincare, the beauty maven still finds herself shopping and testing products like a true student of the industry. After all, having more than 20 years of beauty experience and being the founder of Undefined Beauty “has sharpened my critical eye as I dissect ingredient lists and can easily see through marketing BS,” she tells The Quality Edit. “Science matters. I’m 42 years young so I expect products to perform and not just ‘look pretty.’”

“My mission is to democratize beauty via clean-ical results… but also infusing a purpose-driven mindset by the principle of conscious capitalism, partnering with female founders, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and small business across my supply chain because business empowers business,” she says. “I also take this lens when spending my dollars to vote for brands with a conscious ethos and supporting black owned brands who create badass products that transcend race.”
