Finding a beauty product that delivers on its goal – especially one as lofty as hair appearance and fullness – is no easy feat. As a beauty editor for over a decade, I’ve heard amazing things about Divi’s Scalp Serum (it’s worth noting here that the product has over 13,000 five-star reviews). As a mother all too familiar with the realities of postpartum hair loss, I was excited to see if the hype was real. Luckily for me – and those affected by hair loss – things are personal for Divi.
The brand was created by influencer-turned-founder Dani Austin (2.4M followers), who openly shared her own hair loss journey, ultimately inspiring a science-backed line of clean scalp and hair care products. Austin’s journey to build the brand began when she was suffering from hair loss and turned to wigs to cope. After opening up to her online community and feeling inspired by their response, Austin created a line of clean hair and scalp products that “[get] to the root of healthy hair.”
I tested their lightweight Scalp Serum, which claims to improve the appearance of thinning hair within 12 weeks of daily use (clinical studies show that 90% of users noticed visibly fuller hair after consistent use). This formula – and all Divi formulas – was created by their team’s in-house scientists, which sounds promising. But does it live up to this promise? Keep reading for my honest thoughts.

Key Ingredient Benefits
This serum is chock full of clinically-based ingredients that are known to promote new hair growth: Copper Tripeptide-1 is a small protein that has three amino acids to help give you a hydrated scalp barrier; caffeine is known to help support healthier, thicker-looking hair (the tingling sensation you feel while using it helps reduce excess oil buildup on your scalp and in the hair follicle as well); Hyaluronic Acid helps hydrate your scalp while nourishing it at the same time.
Bottled into a water-based formula, this scalp serum has been clinically-tested – and the results speak for themselves. 90% of users noticed an improvement in the look of fullness of their hair. 87% of users noticed an increase in how dense their hair looked. 82% noticed their scalp felt less dry. Pretty impressive, right?

Putting It to the Test
Before diving into my first-hand experience, here’s what you should know about my hair: I have long, thick hair that’s always been my armour. So, shedding hair postpartum really rocked me. Eager for a solution to help with re-growth – and in some ways, restore my identity – I dove into the Divi experience head first.
I started by shaking the product bottle before using it. I was on second-day hair and was planning on washing my hair the next day so I figured this was just as good of a time as any to test it out. I filled the serum dropper up to the 1 mL line and applied it to my scalp. I massaged it into my scalp and since the serum is water-based, it was very easy to blend in. It had an instant cooling feeling that did take me by surprise at first but it was actually very refreshing. Just like the instructions stated, there was a slight tingling feeling along with the cooling sensation. The only way I can describe it is it makes your scalp feel minty fresh thanks to its key ingredients of Tea Tree Oil, Peppermint, and Eucalyptus Oil.
After a few minutes, the tingling subsided, and after around 20 to 30 minutes the product had completely absorbed into my hair and scalp. I forgot I had even applied anything, which was great because I felt more comfortable wearing it out and about the next day. My hair didn’t feel greasy at all after using it and my scalp felt refreshed.
The next morning, I washed my hair and felt the cooling sensation for a moment again as I washed it out which felt great. I reapplied the serum onto my towel-dried hair and continued about my day.
TLDR: It’s extremely easy to incorporate into my daily routine, which I’ve realized is the most crucial component to a product that has to be used daily to see results.

The Final Results
After using the serum for about two weeks, I’ve started to see less shedding and I can feel a major difference in my overall scalp health. I feel like there’s less product buildup on my scalp than there usually is and my hair looks a lot healthier.
With any hair growth product, there is no instant gratification. The key is consistency and with how my hair and scalp is feeling just after two weeks, I strongly believe that within the 12 weeks that Divi promises, hair growth will be right around the corner. After all, healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp.
It’s truly an easy, lightweight serum that you can use daily without feeling the need that you have to wash your hair immediately. And while I can’t – and won’t – promise any results, I can reiterate that Divi has sold over 2,000,000 serums and counting. Plus, tons of verified buyers have shared that they’re seeing “so much growth." If you’re looking for the same and feel ready to start your own hair growth journey...
