Launch Digest: Jane Goodall And Adaptogenic Ramen Walk Into Your Kitchen

Our team is dedicated to finding and telling you more about the web’s best products. If you purchase through our links, we may receive a commission. Our editorial team is independent and only endorses products we believe in.

Welcome to Launch Digest, where we bring you the latest and greatest product launches to hit the market across the DTC universe. It’s Jane Goodall’s birthday this week which, in my book, should be a national holiday. In lieu of an official day free of work and life obligations to commemorate her birth, we at least have a fabulous limited-edition launch to help us celebrate. There’s also new clothing for your spring closet, instant ramen for the Erewhon-inclined, and clean beauty to sooth your transitional skin needs.

Flamingo Estate Immortalizes Jane Goodall On A Jar Of Artisanal Honey

Credit: Flamingo Estate

And thank god! As a tribute to Jane for her 90th birthday on April 3, Flamingo Estate partnered with the anthropologist icon on a limited launch of Miombo Honeydew Honey – one of the rarest honeys on earth. Harvested in Tanzania as a part of the Jane Goodall Institute’s community-led conservation efforts, where local community members-turned-beekeepers collect honey using traditional methods, the unique honey is made by bees that forage on plant sap produced by Aphids, rather than blossoms. This small detail makes all the difference, resulting in a deep, dark, antioxidant-rich honey with notes of molasses, brown sugar, and dried fruits. $18.57 of the jar’s $36 ticket price goes directly to the Jane Goodall Institute’s work (the remainder are direct costs, because altruism is the name of the Jane Goodall game). I’ll be shocked if this isn’t sold out by the time you’re reading this sentence.

All Beauty Is Now Clean

There’s this amazing phenomenon wherein not only all beauty brands now seem to be clean, but they also take turns launching a new product every week. While this might indicate a slight oversaturation in the entire clean beauty category, there’s really nothing I can do about it, aside from keeping you in the know on the most noteworthy.

goop Beauty dropped a 72-Hour Supercharged Hydrating Water-Cream; according to GP’s clinical measurements, you’ll see the moisturizing effects before you can say the name of the product three times fast.  It’s formulated to instantly flood your complexion with hydration, support the skin microbiome, protect against free-radical damage, and strengthen barrier function, all with a fresh, satin, poreless finish. If anyone can do all of this with one cream, it’s Gwyneth and her goop laboratory.

For those who have loved Indie Lee’s bestselling CoQ-10 Toner for years: the brand has just launched a Cleanser counterpart. With the same CoQ-10 antioxidizing power to repair skin that’s been exposed to environmental stressors, the new Cleanser gets boosted by Hyaluronic Acid, Cucumber, Papaya, Sage, and Aloe to soothe and nourish. Jojoba and Grape Seed Oils alchemize into a moisturizing, milky texture that cleans skin without stripping.

Credit: Kosas & Freck

Kosas launched Dream Beam Sunlit this week, which appears to be the brand’s answer to Saie’s bestselling Sunvisor. Both are mineral sunscreens that simultaneously nourish, moisturize, and subtly brighten skin tone. Perhaps my Saie-dominant beauty routine is predisposing me towards double vision; if you’re a Kosas girl, this might be your spring-summer staple.

Because it’s spring, you officially have creative license to color yourself like a blooming peony. Freck relaunched its Cheekslime for the occasion (and added on three new shades), enhanced with five plant-based ingredients to give cheeks a healthy boost as you glide on the pigmented, buildable, and lightweight cream blush.

The Clean Beauty Hegemony Is Coming For Your Shower, Too

We’re not stopping at makeup. CLEARSTEM – lauded for its dermatologist-tested, effective skincare – branched into the hair care category last week with new acne-safe Shampoo and Conditioner. After CLEARSTEM’s co-founders discovered that 90% of hair products contain pore-clogging ingredients, the two formulated the Restorative Shampoo and Repair Conditioner, safe for all hair types and sensitive skin (and free of hormone disruptors that cause unwanted acne and premature aging).

Crown Affair upgraded its Dry Shampoo, which just so happens to be the only dry shampoo I’ve ever deeply loved. The newly launched packaging is designed for its superfans: it’s refillable and holds double the powder.

Delights For Your Pantry

Synchronized perfectly with National Ramen Day on April 4, Kroma launched Super Ramen, a gluten-free bone broth ramen enhanced with superfoods and adaptogens. Ready in five minutes and made with mung bean noodles and slow-cooked chicken bone broth, it won’t spike your blood glucose, and will nourish your body (and soul) with bovine collagen, anti-inflammatory powerhouses like Reishi and Turmeric, and 15 grams of protein. Engineered for 20 and 30-somethings who grew up on instant ramen and grew into card-carrying Erewhon members.

Almave, the only non-alcoholic brand using the highly-coveted blue agave plant from Jalisco, Mexico, crafts its booze-free spirits following the same process required to make tequila. The brand just launched Almave Blanco, a blend of sweetness, herbaceousness, and acidity, ideal for cocktails that will make you feel like you’re on vacation, without the hangover to undo your beauty sleep.

Non-alcoholic tequila and cocktails in the form of candy: 2024 is amazing. Chopin and Sugarfina collabed on a Candy Bento Box with three martini-inspired candies –  Lemon Drop, Cosmopolitan, and Espresso Martini – all infused with Chopin Vodka. Ideal for Mother’s Day gifting.

Wooden Spoon Herbs launched at Whole Foods, which means your favorite herbal helpers are just a quick jaunt away, thank god. This retail partnership also brings with it TWO NEW HERBAL BLENDS, exclusive to the hallowed shelves of WF  – this is not a drill. Stress Savior for adrenal support, and Brain Bloom for enhanced focus and cognitive function.

For After You’ve Spring Cleaned Your Closet

I mean it: no shopping until you’ve freed yourself of the sweater you keep telling yourself you’ll wear one day. It’s not going to happen honey. Get thee to Goodwill. Out with the old to welcome in all that’s new:

Intersectional outdoor women’s collective Hike Clerb partnered with The North Face on a collection made for Spring frolicking. Secure your Bucket Hat and Skort, and map out your next day trip in search of big rocks and wildflowers.

Credit: Sandy Liang & Bode

Spring collections abound. Sandy Liang continues to knock it out of the park with Prada and Miu Miu-inspired pieces for the modern twenty-something who has cash to burn. Don’t miss fanciful nylon bags and foldover skirt-pants, the latter of which emphasize the label’s balletic overtones. And when I say Prada-inspired, I really mean it

Bode’s new collection is excellent, very English countryside meets California linen, and just as cost-prohibitive as ever, but that won’t stop me from drooling over the footwear. Head to Nordstrom’s very good sale – specifically the SPACE section – to shop Bode for significantly less. Check the Paloma Wool and Acne while you’re there.

Happy shopping. Email me directly – zoe@thequalityedit.com – with any launches you’d like to see in the spotlight, or DM us over @thequalityedit.
