The word of the week? “Pandemonium,” as fashion influencer Bryanboy told The New York Times when describing the situation at Chanel’s Paris boutique. Matthieu Blazy’s debut first ready-to-wear collection hit shelves, and fashion lovers swarmed the store to buy his mint-capped heels, minimalistic soft maxi-flap bag, and $4,350 shirts from the Charvet collaboration. Clothes may not have been as central to the chaos at Chanel stores in the past week, but that’s not for lack of excitement around them.
When Blazy presented his Chanel debut, the Spring/Summer 2026 collection, critics and editors reveled over the craft and joyfulness in his clothes. But the truth is, as stylist and overall icon Gabriella Karefa-Johnson wrote in her Substack, the clothes are “prohibitively expensive.” For those wanting to dish out $4,500 (at minimum!) on the real thing, there’s always a Chanel boutique. Or, for those gunning for a piece at a lower price, there is waiting for the pieces to hit secondhand sites like The RealReal or Depop.
In the meantime, we’ve scoured our favorite fashion brands for their spring jackets that feel reminiscent of Blazy’s own creations for Spring/Summer 2026. What defined his pieces? Breathtakingly beautiful detail, cropped cuts, boyish suit jackets, and his own spins on the classic tweed jacket. Below, shop our favorite Chanel-style jackets, perfect as your next transitional outerwear piece for spring.

This ivory-hued jacket calls back to the opening looks at Blazy’s debut show: cropped cuts, distinctly shaped shoulder, and a looser fit channeling a more masculine vibe. L’Agence's option differs in its brighter hue, ideal for those who enjoy reaching for light colors when the weather feels the best.

Made with a five-button closure and two cute pockets on each side, Alice + Olivia's tweed jacket is perfect for capturing the essence of Chanel this spring. The style is inspired by the original pieces Gabrielle Chanel made riotously popular, with its own twists. A red-hot hue stripes at the trim make this one its own thing.

It’s hard to daydream about Blazy’s initial jackets without acknowledging the numbers defined by their colorful stripes, which added a fun flair to the classic, more monochromatic version of the look. The alternating lines of blue hues and black lines on Derek Lam 10 Crosby’s tweed jacket echo the spirit of some runway pieces.

This cropped jacket, made of a latte-hued cotton fabric, captures the joy of the craftsmanship Blazy has already made central in his collections at Chanel. Cinq A Sept combines feather detailing and glittering beadwork for a jacket that’s truly special, combining a classic silhouette with standout specifics.

Re/done's cozy jacket most recalls Blazy's jackets distinguished by their singular color and contrasting trim. To style this one just like the model on the runway, accessorize yours with a flouncy brooch.

To be clear, no wax jacket went down Chanel's Spring/Summer 2026 runway. But Barbour's Liza jacket feels like a more weather-ready cousin of Blazy's debut jacket styles. Its four-pocket front side feels especially reminiscent of Chanel jackets with the same structure, albeit usually made of tweed.

For a more budget-friendly option, a tweed jacket from Karl Lagerfeld will do. The eponymous brand, named after its late founder and former creative director of Chanel, offers a more pared back option color-wise. It still shines for its frayed edges, similar to what Blazy showed in his debut.
