I don’t know when it happened, but TikTok has become the most absolutely essential tool in my life as a fashion writer. Whether it’s incredible vintage dealers unearthing supercuts of 90s runway inspo or street style videographers capturing New York & Copenhagen’s chicest women in their element, my feed is full of inspiring looks. Sifting through all this amazing material (as well as runway shows from our top designers) are the incredibly perceptive TikTok trend forecasters who always seem to be ten steps ahead of the trends of the moment. Seeing coquette bows and indie sleaze everywhere now? Embraced Barbie pink and tomato girl red last summer? TikTok’s trend forecasting wizards predicted both of these trends at the start of 2023.
I love the range of taste that TikTok can expose you to, but combing through GRWM videos can be time consuming. Leopard print is probably the most predicted trend I came across for 2024, but if you’re not ready to invest in a full animal print fit, accessories are a great place to start to work leopard print into your wardrobe. Mandy Lee also predicts the resurgence of polka dots in 2024. These subtle polka dot tights from Falke are absolutely perfect. They’re extremely strong, perfectly sheer, and so silky to the touch. My favorite tights I’ve ever owned.

While I refuse to acknowledge any chance of the super skinny jean coming back, the slim pant is definitely en vogue for 2024. TikTok it girl @carochng predicts utility as a major 2024 accessories theme, which gels with Rebeca Oksana’s prediction that the fanny pack will be reimagined in 2024. Gabriel for Sach, one of my absolute favorite accessories brands, has been designing chic, utilitarian updates on the fanny pack/crossbody bag for a few seasons. The exposed pockets are perfectly sized for your essentials, and their quality is second to none.

Across the board, trend forecasters predicted the resurgence of the preppy look, which means cardigans are back – and I couldn’t be happier. French legacy brands do preppy so well, leaning more Parisian chic than stuffy New England. Agnes B’s cardigans come in every color you can imagine and last forever.
