Toxic relationships are officially out. When it comes to forever, I want things to feel easy, breezy, and totally healthy. That's why I'm a huge fan of Our Place. While several brands have come under fire for promising to be non-toxic while still containing harmful chemicals, Our Place's cookware is actually clean – and it's gorgeous, too. Non-stick cookware has gained popularity over recent years because it’s designed to be easier to cook with, and easier to clean. Non-stick pans have a more slippery surface, which means they require less oil for cooking, and whatever’s inside – eggs, pancakes, veggies, protein – won’t stick to the bottom (that means less scrubbing and a seamless clean-up experience when these pans are used correctly).
Unfortunately, some of the materials originally used in non-stick coatings have been deemed unsafe and unhealthy. Teflon, for example, has gotten a lot of heat for potentially being linked to cancer. Now, most popular non-stick brands claim to be free of PFOAs and PFAS (the dangerous chemicals originally in Teflon) – but several recent lawsuits claim that these brands aren’t always truthful. Luckily, I found Our Place’s Always Pan 2.0, which is made with a safe-to-use ThermakindTM coating, and I’m certifiably obsessed.
Before I found Our Place, I was pretty bummed – I wasn’t sure I was ready to invest thousands of dollars into a stainless steel set (especially in my small apartment kitchen!), but I obviously didn’t want buy cookware that could be harmful to my health (meals can only be so healthy when cooked in toxic cookware). Thankfully, Our Place checks all of my boxes: its coating lasts 50% longer than other non-stick coatings – and best of all, it’s actually made without PFAS, PTFEs, PFOAs, lead or cadmium. Long story short, Our Place is the real deal. This cookware set is everything I was looking for – I love that these pieces are made with actually-safe materials, they’re so easy to cook with and clean, and the cherry on top is that they’re so cute I’m happy to leave them on my stovetop for my guests to ogle over. I was able to get rid of my crusty, old cookware (lots of it), and this set has stepped in and taken its place seamlessly. Now, I’m enjoying healthier home-cooked meals – made in healthier cookware I wholeheartedly trust. That’s what I call a very good deal.
