Who Said Aperitivo Season Has to End? Ghia’s New Blood Orange Le Spritz Bridges Summer and Fall

I’m a “Ghia person.” Their Original Apéritif has been in my rotation for years – partly because it makes me feel like I’m on the Amalfi Coast even when I’m just in my kitchen, and partly because it tastes nothing like the cloying “mocktails” that usually get passed off as non-alcoholic options. So when I heard Ghia was dropping a new Blood Orange flavor of its Le Spritz, I was curious if it would hit that same balance of bitter, complex, and celebratory.

The verdict? It does, but it’s also the brand’s most approachable sip to date. Bright, juicy, and just the right amount of citrusy-tart, Blood Orange feels like a natural extension of the Ghia lineup. Plus, it makes the shift from summer aperitivo hour to sweater-weather dinner parties feel effortless. It might just be my new favorite flavor, and I have a sneaky suspicion you’ll like it too – no matter your drinking preferences. Here’s why…

Bright, Juicy, and Surprisingly Approachable

If Ghia’s Original Apéritif is for “purists,” Blood Orange is its more inviting little sister. It dials down the bitterness just enough to be easy on the palate, without losing the backbone that makes a spritz taste like…a Spritz. It’s bright, juicy, and balanced – a version that first-time Ghia drinkers will love, but loyalists won’t find watered down.

Sicilian Roots, Modern Rituals

Blood Orange is Ghia’s most Italian Spritz yet: a nod to the kind of apéritif you’d find on a sun-soaked Sicilian terrace, reimagined for today. It captures the Italian spirit, but thankfully you don’t have to be summering in Taormina to enjoy it. Crack open a can and suddenly a weeknight dinner feels a little more la dolce vita.

No Alcohol, No Sugar, No Compromises

The formula follows the same rules as the rest of Ghia’s lineup: no alcohol, no added sugar, no artificial flavors. Instead, you get real citrus, a blend of botanicals, and a fizz that makes it feel like an occasion. I could see myself cracking one open at an office happy hour when I want something more exciting than sparkling water, and pouring it over ice with an orange slice at dinner with friends. It’s one of the few non-alcoholic options I’ve tried that doesn’t feel like a downgrade.

A Fridge (and Tablescape) Upgrade

Looks matter, and Ghia has always known that. The bold Blood Orange can is one of those fridge staples that makes you feel a little more put-together. Its stunning blue can looks chic on a dinner table, slides easily into a picnic basket, and doesn’t need dressing up to feel special. I can imagine it being a new go-to gift, too: aspirational, delicious, and a little treat that goes a long way.
