Non-stick cookware has gained popularity over recent years because it’s designed to be easier to cook with, and easier to clean. Non-stick pans have a more slippery surface, which means they require less oil for cooking, and whatever’s inside – eggs, pancakes, veggies, protein – won’t stick to the bottom (that means less scrubbing and a seamless clean-up experience when these pans are used correctly).
Unfortunately, some of the materials originally used in non-stick coatings have been deemed unsafe and unhealthy. Teflon, for example, has gotten a lot of heat for potentially being linked to cancer.
