TQE Reader: Hey Remi. I'm finally getting married this summer after postponing due to covid! I want to support more diverse and LGBTQ+ brands with my wedding registry. Any suggestions for gift ideas to add to my registry? My partner and I are fun, adventurous and looking to buy a new house! Thanks!

Remi: First off, congratulations. That is such exciting news and I’m so happy for you, so many joyful things on the horizon. The first thing that comes to mind is Boy Smells. Boy Smells is an LGBTQ+-founded brand, actually founded by a couple, which gives me good vibes for a wedding. They make the most delicious candles that would smell amazing in any room in your new home. Estelle Colored Glass is another brand that comes to mind. It’s a black and female-owned business, and they sell the most beautiful colorful glassware. If you’re into more adventurous design, these glasses are seriously drool-worthy. So chic, trendy, but still really timeless --highly recommend.

Hi Remi!! I'm going through a weird transition phase in my life: breakup, new job, new apartment, and new hot bod (in progress). I'm trying this whole dating myself thing. What are the best treat-yo-self subscriptions?

Remi: Hey. I’m sorry you’re dealing with a lot of change right now, that can be hard. But I love your perspective and you 100000% deserve to treat yourself. The idea of treating yourself is different for everyone, but I’m getting the vibe that you want to lean into self care and relaxation. Highline Wellness comes to mind. It’s a CBD company, and they have a ton of different products, like gummies, body oils, bath bombs. You can subscribe to get these products every 15 days to every 90 days, and they have a bunch of different options, whichI feel  could be really fun and relaxing. Another idea is Deux — a plant-based, vegan cookie dough so you need not worry about eating it straight from the tub. It comes in lots of yummy flavors so you really get that indulgent feeling, but every product also has a functional benefit like added vitamins and supplements so I actually think this is a perfect addition to your goals.

Hey Remi! What do I buy for the world's most perfect boyfriend? He's a hopeless romantic, obsessed with HGTV, loves to cook, entrepreneur, UX designer, and world traveler. Ideas for anniversary gifts?

Remi: Congrats on your anniversary! Your boyfriend sounds like quite the guy — we love a man that can cook. If you have any outdoor space, I would go for an Ooni pizza oven. These pizza ovens can get way hotter than your regular convection oven so you get that super crispy crust that you get at a pizzeria. Plus, pizza making is a super fun activity in summer especially when it's nice out. I know world travel isn’t so easy these days, so you might as well go for this and take a little spin to Italy by way of pizza. I think an awesome gift if you don’t have outdoor space or want to spend a little less is something from Fly by Jing. It’s a super cool company making delicious Sichuan-inspired sauces, spice mixes, and condiments. The brand is  known for its chili crisp, but everything is awesome. Your BF would have a lot of fun incorporating these products into his recipes. The great thing about Fly by Jing is it has a bunch of ready-made gift sets which feature a slew of different products making it easy to find the perfect gift.
