At this point, I think we can all agree that living sustainably is important, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. For years, I’ve wanted to make more climate-friendly swaps throughout my home and medicine cabinet only to find that I didn’t really know where to look - and when I did find something promising, I’d question whether the product was actually sustainable or not. So I carried on with my big box toilet paper and plastic bags, figuring that “one day” it would be easier.
Well, that “one day” was the day I discovered Grove Collaborative, an online marketplace that aims to empower a sustainable revolution in every home. With over 200 vetted brands (using the strictest standards for clean ingredients, efficacy, sustainability, cruelty-free formulas, and ethical supply chain practices), there’s tons to choose from, from cleaning products to cutting boards to cosmetics.

A WIDE VARIETY OF PRODUCTS, VETTED BY THE HIGHEST STANDARDS
With Grove Collaborative, strict ingredient transparency means you know exactly what you’re getting. According to the brand, “We relentlessly create and curate high performance, planet-first products for people who are paying attention (and those who know they should be).” Making sustainable swaps has never been easier because Grove Collaborative literally does the research for you. Need a great hand soap that’s good for the planet, safe for your body, and smells good? Try the hydrating Hand Soap Refill ($5.49) - bonus points for a clean holiday scent - and grab a reusable glass Hand Soap Dispenser ($13.99) while you’re at it.
Making these swaps in your bathrooms and kitchen are a massive step toward living more sustainably. Throw in some plant-powered Laundry Detergent Sheets ($12.99), a tube of peppermint All-One Toothpaste ($7.49), a three-pack of Reusable Storage Bags ($12.99), a Bath Bomb Set ($13.99), and some 100% Recycled Plastic Trash Bags ($6.99) and you’ve got yourself the perfect “first planet-first” cart. Ok, it’s a random assortment of things, but I’m trying to spotlight the serious variety here!
AN EASY SUBSCRIPTION MODEL PUTS CONVENIENCE & CONTROL AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
Grove Collaborative is all about convenience, control, and eco-friendly living. Seriously, where do I sign? As a working mom who wants to care about the planet and wants to fill her home with clean products, I’m as passionate - and time restricted - as they come. That’s why I love Grove Collaborative’s subscriptions and VIP membership, which lets me choose exactly what I need, and when I’ll need it. I can set up schedules that work for my family (for example, with two potty trained little ones, we need toilet paper more frequently than the average family) and can make quick edits to my order before it’s sent off for delivery. Delivery, by the way, is totally free for VIPs when you spend $29+ and carbon neutral so you never have to choose between doing good and feeling good.
And on the membership front, I prefer the VIP Membership for added discounts and freebies (I mean let’s be honest, who wouldn’t love getting 7 free gifts a year?!), but if you’re not a membership kinda person, you can still shop and take advantage of the super well-curated, reasonably priced market.

MOVE BEYOND PLASTIC WITH THEIR HOME-GROWN BRAND, GROVE CO.
While Grove Collaborative offers over 200 different brands, their home-grown namesake brand, Grove Co., happens to be my favorite. Not only is it super affordable, but a quick filter for Grove Co products makes it super easy to swap out common household items for more sustainable options. Think basics like dish cloths, all-purpose cleaner, sponges, dryer balls, hand sanitizing wipes, sandwich bags, and more. With a focus on refillable products and reusable containers made with aluminum and glass, the recyclability is off the charts and really eliminates the need for plastic in upwards of 75% of household staples (stat from personal experience). Plus, one of my favorite things about Grove Co. is the fun scents they offer. Most “clean” products are unscented - which honestly I prefer most of the time - but Grove Co. has some amazing scents that don’t smell like chemicals and don’t cause weird bodily reactions, and yet still make your house smell just a little bit better. I’m partial to the flagship Lemon & Eucalyptus but am very intrigued by this year’s holiday scents - Balsam Fir and Peppermint Bark.
If you’ve wanted to build a more sustainable home, but don’t know where to start, try Grove Collaborative. With a great variety of planet-first products that actually work, it’s easy to reduce plastic waste while making things easier on yourself with super convenient membership options (plus free shipping, obviously).
