Without fail, a new animal print hits the fashion world every fall. Cow, cheetah and zebra have all had their moment over the past few years, and I first suspected that I had discovered the next big print when a soft, fuzzy, polka-dotted print hit all my favorite trend-spotting channels a few months ago.
Suddenly, deer print was everywhere: subtly painted on fresh manicures, boldly displayed on leather jackets, and even sprinkled throughout home decor.

But why was everyone suddenly fawning over deer print? The trend is actually an extension of the ever-popular coquette aesthetic. Deer have even been trending separately from fashion, with “I’m just a girl” and “This is who you're being mean to by the way” memes running rampant on social media. Both women and fashion are leaning into their soft-girl eras for the foreseeable future.
With deer print hitting its peak, it can seem almost impossible to sift through relevant products online to try out the trend for yourself. That’s where I come in. Below, my curated list of fan favorite products that’ll help you get your Bambi on…in style.
Paint Your Hooves

I was recently lucky enough to spend an afternoon with the nail experts at Aprés getting a manicure with nail artist Marina Iwakosh (@marina1854), who is currently based at Vanity Projects in lower Manhattan. I, along with many other writers, was there to test out some of their best selling nail products. We were able to choose from several designs, but when I asked Iwakosh what the most popular was, she pointed to the deer spotted design I had chosen as the obvious winner.
Fawn print nails have been all over social media lately. People are loving the spotted design and the cuteness it conveys. Little did I know these nails are also incredibly easy to do. (So easy you could probably do them yourself with a couple of products from Apres lineup.) You only really need three products: an airbrush (I’m loving this tiny one from Aprés: Aer Gel Machine), a base coat in a warm brown tone like Autumn Apricot and a bright white like this shade in Cloud Nine.
The technique is simple. As Iwakosh explains, “Lightly airbrush white first, then add brown on top to create the soft deer-pattern effect.” This will act as your base and from there, “It’s basically building up the spots and shading with thin layers so it looks natural but still defined.”

Rock Your Spots
If you weren't privy to the Sandy Liang x GAP collab that came out in October, you still have time to get your hands on the Spotted Vegan Fur Half-Zip Pullover. This warm, fluffy jacket pays homage to Sandy’s early designs (which featured fleece pullovers and other whimsical floral patterns). Not only would I recommend getting your hands on this fleece while you still can, but if you are lucky enough to snag the last pieces of the GAP collab in store or second hand, I’m sure you won't be disappointed.

Just when I thought I couldn't find a more perfect deer-print piece, I came across a video from creator @vicmontanari showing off her new leather jacket from London-based fashion label Cawley. The Flying Jacket was designed to evoke vintage aviation jackets with front patch pockets and nappa leather binding. Cawley is creating beautiful, completely original pieces that I have not seen anywhere else, and I can’t wait to see what they do next!

I fell deeper in love with deer print after Dagne Dover released their most recent collection which featured bags in multiple shapes and sizes in their limited “fawn” print. When asked how the fall 2025 collection came to be, Jessy Dover Co-Founder & Chief Creative Officer of Dagne Dover said they looked to the Scottish Highlands for inspiration.
“We decided to lean into our desire to touch grass and spend time in nature through our earthy colors and
cozy textures,” said Dover. “We knew we’d include Fawn in this seasons assortment from when we first
started brainstorming because of its ethereal vibe and neutral tone.”
The Dagne Dover team doesn't see this trend going away any time soon, noting that deer print will surely be everywhere before it goes away.

Curating Bambi’s Bedroom
Don’t think about this too hard, it is a little morbid to think about having Bambi’s hide on your living room floor, but don’t fret–no real deer were harmed in the making of this rug. This print is a neutral way to spice up a room without going too wild. The best part is its machine washable, just in case you track in some mud from your daily forest frolics.
