Tatcha is one of those beauty brands that delivers hit after hit. The Water Cream has become a beauty staple for beauty influencers, editors, and celebrities alike, which is why I was more than excited to hear that the brand was extending its assortment. The Dewy Milk Moisturizer is Tatcha’s newest hydrating moisturizer that will quickly become essential for your summer beauty. It joins the “Dewy” lineup next to fan favorites like The Dewy Skin Cream and The Dewy Serum.
I spoke to celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin, who is Tatcha’s Global Director of Artistry, to learn more about how the product came to be. You’ve probably seen Martin’s work on some of your favorite celebrities like Megan Markle, Duchess of Sussex — he was in charge of her now iconic wedding makeup — as well as Jessica Alba and Ali Wong.
“I’ve used it on a few clients recently,” Martin told us about Tatcha’s new Dewy Moisturizer. “It’s amazing under makeup on long shoot days. It keeps the skin looking fresh and hydrated without touch-ups, which is a game-changer for on-camera work.” The brand tapped Olympic gymnast Suni Lee to star in the campaign for the new launch.

First Impressions
I will admit, I was quite excited to get my hands on the brand’s latest launch almost a full month in advance. The moisturizer comes in the brand’s iconic lavender hue with gold accents. It comes in an easy-to-use pump format since the product is more lightweight. The moisturizer promises to leave your skin with a bouncy feel almost instantly and leaves your skin with lightweight hydration, which is great for my skin type.
Compared to The Dewy Cream, The Dewy Milk Moisturizer, as the name suggests, is a lightweight, milky consistency. I love that it sinks into my skin almost immediately and doesn't leave a greasy film on top (which some heavier creams tend to do). It didn’t pill when I applied makeup and my skin felt hydrated for hours without being sticky.
TD;LR if you have oily or scenic skin, this lightweight moisturizer will be right up your alley.
About the Dewy Milk Moisturizer
There’s nothing better than a beauty brand taking feedback from its consumers to create new products and Tatcha did just that with its new launch. “Dewy Milk Moisturizer was created as a direct response to our community’s ask,” Martin reveals.
“We have been hearing from our community that the Dewy Skin Cream can be a bit rich for some skin types. As a contributor to the testing/creating process of Dewy Milk Moisturizer, we created something that is a lighter, bouncier option, delivering 2x more bouncy skin with the same all-day glow of the Cream!”
The moisturizer is created for all skin types but was specifically created for those with oily or combination skin in mind. It’s packed with hydrating ingredients like Japanese Rice and Zinc Hyaluronate. “They work together to prevent water loss, strengthen the skin barrier, and reduce excess oil while delivering balanced lightweight hydration,” Martin explains.
How to Use It in Your Makeup Routine
When it comes to your makeup routine, Martin lets us in on exactly what step we should apply the product to get the best results. Apply it “right after skincare and before primer or base. It preps the skin perfectly for makeup by creating a smooth, bouncy, hydrated canvas — no pilling, no greasiness, just glow.”
If you’re hoping to get the perfect dewy glow this summer without a sticky finish, we’ve got you covered there too. “Start with lightweight layers — Dewy Milk Moisturizer as your base, followed by a sheer skin tint and cream blush,” explains Martin. “Finish with a soft-focus setting powder only where needed, like the T-zone, to keep the glow in check without mattifying the whole face.”
Needless to say, we’ll be using Tatcha’s newest Dewy Milk Moisturizer all summer long to get the perfect luminous glow. You can shop the product to try for yourself at Tatcha.com and Sephora now.
