In partnership with Caraway.
Have you recently noticed beautifully colored, shaped, and textured cookware sprouting up on your Instagram feed? The Cookware Renaissance? Welcome. It’s here. And, honestly, it’s time.
Ask any chef if cooking is an art or a science and they’ll tell you it’s both. Equal parts chemistry and creativity, cooking is one of those special skills that engages both sides of the brain. So, why has this multiplicity escaped our cookware for years? While heritage brands have pretty exclusively sunken their teeth into functionality, modern cookware brands like Caraway are at last building a more balanced equation (one that considers design, aesthetics, storage, and impact, too).
Sold out for a majority of 2020 and recipient of over 15,000 five-star reviews, Caraway delivers something we’ve long waited for: an appreciation for the science, art, and joy of cooking.
With a seamless blend of old school trustiness and new school well-roundedness, the brand has struck gold in its line of clean, durable, and jaw-droppingly gorgeous cookware. Sold out for a majority of 2020 and recipient of over 15,000 five-star reviews, Caraway delivers something we’ve long waited for: an appreciation for the science, art, and joy of cooking.
The Caraway Way
Founded to bring “good looking, clean cooking” to your every day, Caraway offers four streamlined kitchen staples: a 10.5-inch Fry Pan ($95), 4.5-quart Saute Pan ($135), 3-quart Sauce Pan ($105), and 6.5-quart Dutch Oven ($125), sold individually or as a four-piece set for $395 with exclusive storage solutions (a feature I've never seen before in a cookware set).
The brand’s foundation is its clean, healthy-for-you materials. Most popular non-stick cookware is coated in the likes of PFOA, PTFE (also called Teflon), other PFAs, lead, cadmium, and toxic metals. While these materials provide a slippery surface for your food, they also release harmful chemicals into it when heated above 500 degrees. And, not to scare you, but here I go: the Environmental Working Group classifies these as “forever chemicals,” meaning they can take decades to leave the body and never break down in the environment.
Thankfully, Caraway has found a better way: its cookware is made of non-stick ceramic, an aluminum core, and stainless steel handles. This means each product is non-stick and also non-toxic. People-friendly, eco-friendly, and kitchen-friendly, each pot and pan is stovetop agnostic (induction, gas, and electric safe) and oven safe up to 550 degrees.
Caraway’s focus on cleaner cooking is mirrored by an appreciation for design and aesthetics. Take a peek and prepare to be amazed. Clean lines, a smooth, shiny finish, and soothing colorways are Caraway’s bread and butter. The brand knows what it’s doing -- and making $395 seem like an absolute bargain is just the start.
An Unboxing Worthy Of 1,000 Words
I recently had the opportunity to test drive Caraway’s Cookware Set. Please, prepare your tissues: this love letter is an earnest one. From delivery to use, I haven’t been this wowed by a brand in quite some time.
My love affair began when I was greeted by a very large box in my apartment’s lobby. Aware of what I ordered, I was dumbfounded by the size of the box until I opened it. Above and below the cozy, beautifully labeled cocoon for my new Fry Pan, Sauté Pan, Sauce Pan, and Dutch Oven, I found storage solutions for each piece and accompanying lid that I simply cannot stop raving about. I mean this quite literally:
Aware of the beauty of its cookware, Caraway’s storage system provides the opportunity to display each piece like the work of art it is. Each pot and pan comes with its own magnetic cubby for countertop display or cabinet organization.
For the record, I have a pretty strict nothing-on-the-kitchen-counter rule, which I’ve obviously (and joyously) broken for my Caraway set. Look at these beauties -- they deserve to be seen by every single person who steps foot into my home!
To top things off, the set’s three lids arrive in a hanging canvas holder meant to be hung on any cabinet door, plus the brand includes two cork trivets for serving. For the record, I have a pretty strict nothing-on-the-kitchen-counter rule, which I’ve obviously (and joyously) broken for my Caraway set. Look at these beauties -- they deserve to be seen by every single person who steps foot into my home!
Love At First Simmer
After hardcore judging this book by its oh-so intoxicating cover, I stopped texting and emailing and slacking every person I know to, you know, actually use the cookware. Its performance? Top-notch. The quality of Caraway’s pots and pans is evident in the weightiness of each: these pans are neither light nor flimsy. Their ceramic coating means that they’re highly conductive (high heat is no longer necessary -- medium heat does the trick), heat evenly, and require just a touch of olive oil for a simple and successful cook. My first foray into the Caraway world was a simple sauté of farmers market broccolini, and I swear I tasted a difference. Better materials truly allow for simple ingredients to shine.
While I’m still finding the perfect recipe for my new Dutch Oven, I’ve been overwhelmingly excited -- and impressed -- by the experience of cooking everyday dishes in my Sauce Pan, Sauté Pan, and Fry Pan. While they are dishwasher safe, the ceramic coating on these pans makes them so easy to wash by hand -- and the magnetic rack doubles as a drying rack -- so clean-up is a breeze (and saves me some extra space in the dishwasher for other dinnerware).
The Joy Of Cooking Caraway’s Way
Modern brands encounter the tall task of “doing it all” for today’s consumer. We’re tough critics who think we deserve the best on all fronts (Performance! Aesthetics! Design! Sustainability!) and brands able to cater to these standards are the ones who will stand the test of time. I can’t think of a brand more worthy of the instant-classic title than Caraway. A brand that elevates some of life’s greatest joys -- cooking, hosting, and gathering -- with elegance deserves all the praise, not to mention a front row spot on your kitchen countertop.
5 More Reasons To Love Caraway:

- Beautiful products for beautiful experiences. Caraway’s Cream, Gray, Perracotta, Sage, Navy, and Marigold colorways are truly something to write home about.
- Bonus points for baking. In addition to cookware, Caraway just launched its brand new Bakeware collection -- the full set retails at $395, and also includes beautiful storage organizers (just like their Cookware set).
