If you’ve spent any time on WeddingTok this summer, you’ve probably seen Brigette Pheloung McHale’s Newport nuptials. On August 8th, Brigette Pheloung, aka Acquired Style, married her college sweetheart, Mitch McHale, in a gorgeous Rhode Island celebration. Now, one of the most recognizable details from her wedding is getting a life beyond the big day. Pheloung McHale has teamed up with Zola to turn her custom wedding stationery into a collection available to couples everywhere.
Inside Brigette Pheloung McHale’s New Zola Stationery Collection
Inspired by the Stationery she created for her own Newport nuptials, the exclusive “Newport” collection brings together elegant script, coastal details, soft colors, and the hand-drawn hydrangea crest that became a recurring motif throughout her wedding.

The collection includes save-the-dates, invitations, RSVPs, menus, programs, and place cards, allowing couples to carry the same visual language from their first announcement to the wedding day.
But rather than simply reproducing Pheloung McHale’s own wedding stationery, the collection was designed to give couples room to make the details their own. “I love that something that began as such a personal part of our wedding can now become part of someone else’s,” Pheloung McHale says. “The collection has the feeling and inspiration of Newport without requiring you to get married there.”
Brigette Pheloung McHale’s Newport Wedding Was Inspired by the Destination
From the beginning, Pheloung McHale knew she didn’t want to impose a wedding aesthetic onto Newport; she wanted the destination to tell the story. “We leaned into everything that makes the area special—the hydrangeas, the water, the local food and coffee, and the overall feeling and pace of being in Newport,” Pheloung McHale tells The Quality Edit.

Woven throughout the wedding was a sense of timelessness. “We just wanted every detail to feel like it naturally belonged there,” she says. And while the details were carefully considered, the ultimate goal was less about creating a perfectly designed wedding and more about creating an experience that felt personal to the couple. “More than anything, we wanted guests to feel like they had stepped into one of our favorite places for the weekend, not just attended our wedding there.”
The Newport Wedding Details We’ve All Been Dying to Know
TQE: How did you decide on Newport, R.I. as your wedding destination?
Brigette Pheloung McHale: “Newport has always been somewhere Mitch and I loved escaping to, so when we started looking at venues, we knew we wanted somewhere that already felt special to us rather than choosing a destination simply for the wedding.
The moment we visited Castle Hill Inn, we stopped looking. It has this incredible sense of place that's difficult to recreate anywhere else. It captures everything we love about New England without feeling overly traditional, and rather than creating a destination wedding somewhere unfamiliar, we loved the idea of inviting everyone into a place that already had so much character of its own.”
TQE: What did you want people to feel when they opened your wedding invitation?
BPM: “The invitation was really the first opportunity to introduce people to the world of the weekend, so we wanted it to immediately feel very Newport coded. Since so much of our wedding was centered around the guest experience, we thought about the stationery in the same way. Zola really helped us get that right.
It wasn't just about creating something beautiful; it was about giving everyone a sense of where they were going and what the weekend would feel like before they ever arrived. We wanted it to feel personal, timeless and very connected to Castle Hill and the town of Newport, which is ultimately what informed so many of the details throughout the stationery.”
TQE: You used a hand-drawn hydrangea crest as a motif. Where did the idea come from, and how did you decide where to weave it in?
BPM: “The hydrangeas really came directly from the setting. They are such an iconic part of Newport in the summer, and because we were so focused on letting Rhode Island inspire the wedding rather than bringing in references from somewhere else, they became a really natural motif for us.

We worked with the designers at Zola to create a hand-drawn crest—it gave us something that felt specific to our wedding while still being rooted in the destination. From there, we were really thoughtful about where it appeared. We didn't want to put it on absolutely everything, but instead use it as a thread that guests would start to recognize throughout the weekend.
That was really our approach to the entire wedding—finding details that had a reason for being there and then carrying them through in a way that felt intentional rather than overly designed.”
TQE: Tell us about your new collaboration with Zola. How did you go about translating the Newport aesthetic into a stationery collection other couples could make their own?
BPM: “The collaboration with Zola felt like such a natural extension of the wedding because our stationery was so tied to the destination and really set the tone for the entire weekend.
When we started thinking about the collection, we didn't want to simply recreate my wedding stationery. We wanted to identify the elements that made it feel so special to us—the hand-drawn details, hydrangeas, coastal references, soft colors and that balance between something timeless and something that still feels fresh—and translate those into designs that other couples could make completely their own.
I love that something that began as such a personal part of our wedding can now become part of someone else's. The collection has the feeling and inspiration of Newport without requiring you to get married there. It's really about taking that sense of place and romance and giving couples the tools to reinterpret it for their own wedding and their own story.”
TQE: If you could give one piece of advice to future brides, what would it be?
BPM: “Make decisions based on what actually feels like you as a couple rather than what you feel like you're supposed to do for a wedding.
For us, that meant constantly asking whether each decision felt personal to our relationship and to the place we had chosen. Everyone who attended our wedding touched our relationship in some way, so we wanted the weekend to feel warm, intentional and deeply personal rather than overly formal. Our dream was for people to leave feeling like they had spent a weekend with us instead of just attending an event.”
